KC Life Insurance, aka the reason why there's a number of other vacant lots around.

Re: Abandoned Kansas City Star Article

Yeah, it sounds familiar to me too. Best bet on finding it would be one of the databases that MCPL subscribes to that contains all Star articles since like 1990 or so... it wouldn't have pictures but it'd have text at least.

Re: Historic Old Northeast

The Chua Quan Am Buddhist Temple, at Lexington and Park avenues in the Old Northeast, is making progress. Artisans were brought in from overseas to construct decorative elements of the temple facade and entrance. Location: http://tinyurl.com/ycxjgaac Looks like they grafted it to the south side of ...

Re: The KC City Flag

Wichita's city flag has enough design mojo that there's a movement afoot to make it available as a personalized license plate. http://www.kansas.com/news/politics-government/article178464901.html I'm not sure if Missouri allows such a thing, and even if they did, the current KC flag blows and proba...

Font is too bold making it appear blocky - not attractive.
Viewing from the south the letters are so large it makes the building look shorter and blockier.

How does it differ from One Light?

It's a clearance store (despite having twice the number of stores as the full-line Nordstrom, but still).

I'm glad something is getting done, but it's a shame to see them backing down from the original vision. Does anyone know if these will be buffered or not? it's not 100% buffered, but most of grand is. here are the design plans: https://data.kcmo.org/Transportation/Final-Bike-KC-4-3-16/6phz-6gj8 I c...

Re: Crossroads needs greenspace

A great starting place to try one of these would be in one of the places where on-street parking was removed for the streetcar because the width of the remaining parking lane was too narrow, or where there's otherwise a stretch of pavement that's striped off because it's too narrow for parking.
