Also interesting that the Joe's people are partnering in the new Rye. They don't partner with any other restaurants?

Re: Missouri Amtrak Service

Wichita isn't too super car crazy really. Huge biking community. Follow up Amtrak article: http://www.kansas.com/news/local/article155387129.html Quite a crowd! The Union Station is kind of an awkward building too, but it currently being renovated. The trackside is a level up from the road next to i...

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar

Apparently there was a guy threatening a streetcar full of people with a knife last night (First Friday)... it's gonna be stuff like that which will change perception in one fell swoop.

It looks like they filed for bankruptcy before the city approved the plans? Why was the city approving plans with bankrupt developer?

Re: Troost developments

More here, the first 'all micro' project in KC, as in all units are only 300sqft. Given between Rockhurst/UMKC, sounds more like a dorm leaning product from private sector. http://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/news/2017/04/05/micro-apartments-uc-b-properties-prospect-avenue.html Pickwick has quite...

In case the "Railroad Street" address didn't give it away: if they ever get the Rock Island trail finished, it'll go in directly across from Crane.

I think the New Theater keeps that moribund center next door afloat. It's weirdly grafted onto the back...

Also kinda worth noting that Schnucks used to be in that center too.

Because it's McClatchy and the operations are closely related: Wichita Eagle sold their building to Cargil last fall (see uninspiring Cargill rendering... not that type of rendering: http://www.kwch.com/content/news/Cargill-details-plans-for-new-headquarters-404114316.html) The old distribution shed...

Re: Jackson County Regional Rail Plan

TONS of people will use this. It's miles of trail that goes through LS and Raytown without riding on road and without needing to drive anywhere. Through use past pleasant hill will be 5% of the users at best. There will be a lot of families that ride from their neighborhood and use the trail. Think...
