Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?

Don't forget the LA Stadium will be open by then. It can have a temporary capacity of up to 100k people. Got to think it will be the front-runner for the final. New LA Stadium was not a part of the bid & can't be added at this point unless they replaced the Rose Bowl with it. The final will be at t...

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?

This is the final list of teams, they have to submit the bid tomorrow. So if they get the WC, KC would get a game(s). Reminder that the World Cup will have 48 teams by then so easier to spread it out.

It's not just "falling out of favor." It's always been kind of a luxury item and as a millennial, I'm lucky to be able to pay for car repairs. Most can't even fight for single unit homes.

Re: Sporting Kansas City

You're kind of undermining where SKC & MLS was in 2010, when the stadium finally broke ground. Seattle had just entered the league the season before, & no one knew if they'd be able to keep those high attendance numbers up. ATL wasn't even a thought, at that point, it looked like the most likely exp...

Re: KC's quirks and oddities (keep it light)

I'm more of a KansaCity guy, I just slur it together with the last s merging into the c, feels like a lot of my millennial friends are the same way. I'd say our way of doing the number before highway is the biggest quirk though. Also, the lady I'm seeing grew up in Waldo & says Wor-nell and I correc...

Re: We need a new airport!!!

I talked with one of the many Northland seniors that populate my pharmacy this week that said he loves the current airport because he can literally "park my car right on the curb for my flight & it'll be there when I get back." I was amazed, I asked him what his most recent flight was. It was 1994. ...

They're all equally bad. I've used the payment machines in Boston, Minneapolis, Charlotte, Chicago, Houston, St. Louis. Not one wasn't slow or annoying in some manner. I have waited behind people figuring out the machines in multiple cities. I tend to buy all day or multi-day fare cards on purpose....

they're tier IV compliant (less polluting) and capable of faster speeds (which will be important for the STL-CHI and DET-CHI corridors). theoretically they should be more reliable, too. hah, well that's important. is kc-stl any better than it used to be? i'd certainly like to take a car-free trip t...

They paid all that money to get into the expansion team race with Vegas. I doubt they move just like that when they can rebuild the Nordiques from scratch.

London went cash free last year. Apparently they dropped from 25% cash fares to 1% from 2004 to 2014. So whatever they did could be a model for US cities. Really helps when your contactless bank card can be used to pay your fare. Blame the US banks for dropping the ball on RFID cards, which are bas...

Re: Do you have or plan to get Google Fiber?

Their TV service is so stagnate that it's getting kind of depressing. Channels are hardly introduced anymore, no new app updates, still can't set up anything out of house. They only seem to answer any questions days after the matter and even then, it isn't truly answered outside of the WS system out...

Re: Rams leaving St. Louis?

I hate the whole mentality of "LA Needs Two NFL Teams." I get they have 2 of every other of the 5 major leagues but good lord, the NFL draws on it's own. There is always an odd man out too when it comes to the teams, seems like MLB is the only one who avoids that plus somewhat the NHL teams at times...
