Re: Is the term midwest to broad?

"As long as we can agree that a hot dog is not a sandwich." Why is it not a sandwich? Growing up I had hotdog sandwiches all the time. Easy to do as a young lad. Slice a hotdog lengthwise in the middle cutting almost all the way through. Warm up in a skillet. Take a slice of bread, cut in ...

Re: Is the term midwest to broad?

"MO is tricky. Western MO seems more like the Plains - the Eastern parts are more like the South."

My split is more north/south with the MO River more or less the dividing line. Of course there are those who probably say it's KC and St. Louis together and then the rest of the state.

Re: Amazon searching for second HQ

In choosing the location for HQ2, Amazon has a preference for:  Metropolitan areas with more than one million people  A stable and business-friendly environment  Urban or suburban locations with the potential to attract and retain strong technical talent  Communities that think big and creativel...

Re: Amazon searching for second HQ

Lees' Summit, Grandview, Raymore, and Belton are loaded with greenspace to house this complex. And with easy highway access. Even KCMO along 150 west of I49 has plenty. If you want to make it closer the old federal complex at Bannister and Troost is a choice.

"DeJanes's garage, by the way, seems to have been built in 1996."

Surely the ATA knew of its existence since then. If so then why wait so long to take action? Why wait 20 years?

Wouldn't this take an act of both state legislatures like the ATA?

Instead of regional just think of using the Port Authority.

Re: We need a new airport!!!

This is from the Missouri Constitution and this is evidently what is being referenced. "Section 27(a). Political subdivision revenue bonds issued for utilities and airports, restrictions.—Any county, city or incorporated town or village in this state, by vote of a majority of the qualified elec...

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC

Easements provide rights for a specific and limited use of land by someone other than the owner. When a non-owner uses land in a way that excludes the owner entirely from using it himself—such as by fencing it in or building a garage on it—that's called "possession" or "tenancy"...

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC

There are numerous parking lots on the ATA's right-of-way. There is no such thing as an easement that does what you imagine; presumably the ATA leases the parking lots to the adjacent businesses. Yes, it's possible that the ATA and Sherry DeJanes entered into a contract that allowed her to construc...

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC

What about the parking lot for Sutherland's? That is on the ROW. Yes, the ATA could have granted easements to the so-called offending parties, less area the ATA would have to maintain.

How old is the Sprint Center? May not have to redo all of the place but having a team would require some sort of expenditure to bring the facility up-to-date. Plus a practice facility among other things.

There is an item call "contributory negligence". I am stopped at an intersection by a red light. The light turns green and I proceed to enter the intersection. Of course I don't look both ways because I now have the green light. I fail to notice a car speeding and it immediately hits me as...

Looks like Seattle has a $650M plan to rehab the Key Center to attract either a NBA or a NHL team. I think it is to be ready by 2020.

Looks like there are 3 choices for BBQ at Arrowhead this season. Smoke, Plowboys, and Little Pig.
The Little Pig is located in Belton and is a very small restaurant. So if you are at a game and want some BBQ give Little Pig a try.

Yes it is. The city bought the bridge years ago in order to remove the railroad tracks that went between Kemper and the other buildings and then turned north through the east parking lot.
