Re: A quick population hypothetical for data fiends

Yes, the density of KCMO was never close to that of other big cities. Don't forget most big cities were developed before the Civil War. Most of the development of KCMO came after that war. And one thing that went hand-in-hand with that development was the start of mass transit. That way KCMO grew in...

LCRA is set to approve financial documents Wednesday to set up a December closing. If they don't close in December the project is in jeopardy because the firm construction estimates expire. The developers are scheduled to provide an update on Thursday to the council business session. https://citysc...

Re: Phase Three Streetcar Expansion

Any idea how the study got the cc line estimate so wrong? Seems like a big thing to not take into account The Next Rail study used the Main Street Streetcar Price Per Mile cost for all the routes they looked at. By using the CCROW, a pre graded former rail line, the cost is cut down from the ~$30/m...

Re: Politics

Before he resigned Nixon still had enough GOP support to dodge impeachment. Even when he resigned he still had significant GOP support, although not the leaders of the GOP. And for now the GOP members of Congress will not bail on Trump until he becomes a political liability. Which probably will not ...

"Does the thought of such an archaic death keep you from committing a crime that would lead to such a death?"

Considering the number of people who have been executed and on death row I don't think the idea of a death penalty enters their minds.

The bottoms work for a variety of reasons. I hope it comes back. Can't believe people thought the traffic was bad. There are several ways in and out - it can't be that difficult. When Kemper had large crowds it was a big mess leaving the West Bottoms. I could take an hour after the event for the pa...
