Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar
the center median is well used by commercial traffic. I love the look of the medians better for sure but you'd have to account for them somewhere. Main Street isn't a parking lot. Uber eats and other drivers need to quit using it as one too. The area has alleys, parking lots, loading docks, and sid...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
During a conversation with Populous, I was told that while the current plan includes closing Oak, they are looking at several different options. I get the feeling they don't see it working without closing Oak though. Interesting news to me however, they claim Oak will remain open to pedestrians, in...

"committed" Yeah…… it’s part of the negotiation process before any kind of development agreement is reached. I know you all know this but you’re being very pessimistic. What do you want? A signed agreement they will spend a billion dollars before they even know how the stadium is going to...

Re: New Riverfront Women's Soccer Stadium
how are most people accessing the stadium since there apparently isn't much parking? park in river market and walk down, uber, or what? I walked from the River Market starting at about 10am at the town of Kansas bridge. There was a solid stream of walkers ahead of me and behind me. The energy and e...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
KC Current: zero incentives from city, county or state. Sold out the entire season and ticket prices starting at $150/ea. someone explain to me how $1.7B in incentives for the new Royals is a better deal than lowly women’s soccer? Because it cost 1/10th of what a new MLB stadium will cost. If they ...

There were school buses picking up in north loop that would take people right to stadium as well as what others have posted. People were really enjoying the walk t...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Yeah, I get that. The studies don't take into account the intangible and quality of life effects though. Honestly don't get why team owners can't just take out loans to pay for stadiums, but that's just how it is and KC alone can't change it. Exactly. Quality of life is the play not pure this makes...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
^ especially in such a regional and isolated metro like KC. Even as bad as the Royals are, every time they play the Twins, several thousand people drive in for games. And lots of people travel to KC for Royals games from across the country. If KC didn't have the stadiums, it wouldn't have other maj...

Re: New Riverfront Women's Soccer Stadium
^ cool shot I think it's looking at the structure from the street. It looks like there is nothing to it. Just beams and grand stands. But that stadium doesn't have much going on in the end zones, so that's probably why. It's not big enough for the ends of the stadium to be built out. Your pic shows...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
The city will more than make up for the tax incentives with the various economic impacts. You know there is not one economist that has ever made this math work right? Even expanding it ancillary as you can imagine. the pure dollar and sense does not math out. I'm not at all saying it's not worth it...

I feel like our high end (expense check) steakhouse market maybe the lowest it's ever been in KC. 801, Capital, and I guess Stockhill? Don't forget Pierponts. Ocean Prime and Eddie V's would also fall under this category, right? Have done Ocean Prime, 801, and Capital Grille for expensed dinners. I...

I haven't heard any reviews from those who went but everybody downtown seemed really excited pregame. Can't wait to go check it out.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Besides 50+ years of history and both teams having “Kansas City” in their official names… the loss of tax revenue. The loss of synergy with KC etc. Shooting for gold, which is downtown baseball and ending up with suburban baseball- Travesty. Trying to extend the life of one of the most iconic NFL s...
