Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

I'm not saying they were materially the reason but the downtown voting bloc ending up such in the no camp the whole impacting the neighborhood had some impact. I'm just saying overall if a vote goes so badly and then the government finds a way to make it happen anyways without another vote, it typic...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Gonna get ugly if the city does this without a vote after losing the last vote so bad. Better have small business impacted on board

Re: Misc Crossroads News

The bartender was at Mean Mule. Supposedly got "pulled into a meeting" about it. seems pretty unreliable but they sounded confident so thought I'd share.

Re: OFFICIAL: Port Authority Riverfront Project

what was the scope of the study? Crossing the RR is one problem but even using industrial is pretty treacherous and I wouldn't recommend anybody walk it currently.

digging up some delayed projects here, nothing new has been filed plans/permit wise. Site was last inspected back in 2023 for property violations.

Re: OFFICIAL: Port Authority Riverfront Project

Can't wait for an actual ped connection. That main street bridge is cool as an overlook but sucks for connection. The other option through Columbus park is dangerous and almost unusable. Where is the pedestrian connection going to be? What option do you have from Columbus Park? Walking down Guinott...

that's literally all I'm saying. Some are picking sites or hating on EV because the view is bad. It's inconsequential when making a huge urban splash like a downtown stadium is.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

That’s not what happened. Once again. They still were going to invest the same amount. They were still going to build entertainment, residential properties and more. The only thing that changed was the location and some of the programming of the village. It was never about doing less, it was about ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

It doesn't make sense to enough people, though. So best to just move on unless you've really got the time and energy to engage and commit to doing things differently. On top of the botched roll out, the rug being pulled out at the last minute didn't help -- not to mention skeezy things like offerin...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

This is one of your worst opinions you’ve consistently held. Views matter. You think Petco would be the gem it is with a view of nothing but interstate? I’m not saying it’s at the top of the list but when investing over a billion dollars it better be top of mind. Yes. Petco would be the same. Wrigl...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

From one glorious view of I70 to another glorious view of I70. We have to quit worrying about outfield views. It's so unimportant. Case in point royals wanted a stadium with at&t building as the backdrop. So lucky they aren't being this vein. This is one of your worst opinions you’ve consistent...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

My dream site remains the Manual Tech/ATA site: there's an entertainment district already built, that we already subsidize. It's investment on the east side, the Negro Leagues history is there, it would bridge the Crossroads to East Side gap, there's room to include parking structures in the plan, ...

Alehouse shut down because it went for the quick cash and not the long play. They reformatted the music and tried to be a bottle service type nightclub opposed the original idea of a great sports and beer bar. They've had too many tavern disturbances, shootings and other forms of violence, includin...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

In an interview on KCUR Tara Raghuveer said KCT wasn't necessarily against an East Village location. Also, you would think it would be in the Royals best interests if they're going to ask the city for incentives to replace that affordable housing. I'd even say they should replace and add additional...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

A campaign done well for the same site in crossroads where more than a second is spent explaining concerns like parking people have with real details (remember for months some of us were begging the royals for this but told it's too early) and actual time is spent explaining the site, it will pass.
