Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar

So the first picture bring up a question not really streetcar specific. There are signs saying sidewalk closed on either side of the platform but the sidewalk isn't closed only redirected a bit to one part of the platform. Is the city ordinance that any partial blockage of a sidewalk requires the si...

8th Street between Broadway and The Phoenix (Central)

I feel like maybe this has been discussed but I can't find it. This to me is a perfect two block stretch that could be turned into a pedestrian only restaurant/bar stretch ala 4th street in Cleveland http://www.east4thstreet.com/shop-dine-experience https://goo.gl/maps/D5MxVmjVj7iVXsgM8 Anybody know...

Re: 2019 Mayor/Council Elections

So, is the general rag consensus that we are on the verge of slipping back into a more negative, anti-development cycle under Lucas and co.? It's already been a slow year for new development announcements and the vibe I'm getting from news about town reminds me just a bit of the dark days of Funkho...

The developer is also pitching a "green line" along the railroad tracks that would connect Westside with 18th & Vine. I guess the city owns a lot of right-of-way along the terminal railway.
This idea is pretty great. I had no idea the city owned any land adjacent to the RR.

Based on how she ran her re-election campaign, I'm going to say she'll chair T&I instead. Loar will chair the airport committee, which is horrifying.
I bet the airport committee is disbanded

Re: OFFICIAL - 21c Museum Hotel KC (former Savoy Hotel)

The big main dining room is now just another art gallery space. Good move. They created one of the most sterile fine dining rooms I've ever experienced. I haven't been back for a sit-down meal since shortly after the opening. I just don't know if they've reconfigured the old bar for more covers?

Re: OFFICIAL - Loews Convention Hotel (formerly Hyatt)

why not make the corner stairs glass for example? I'm over saying this building is built backwards even though it is.

It's far from good from the south which I said from day 1 of the renderings. Completely turns it back to our beautiful performing arts center.
