Re: OFFICIAL: Zona Rosa (tenants & phase II)

Hard to find a place to park. Dear god please tell me you’re joking here… Nope. There was some type of event in the center lawn, and something else at North Park. Tons of people where there. There was very little available parking nearby with the main parking garage completely closed in the middle ...

Re: OFFICIAL: Zona Rosa (tenants & phase II)

Express is closing this location due to company bankruptcy. Talking to staff, the Country Club Plaza location is staying open. This is one of the original tenants in a semi-neat looking art deco building. Sad loss for Zona Rosa. They need to get the parking garage repairs done ASAP. Hard to find a p...

Re: Cheddar’s

I believe it closed because of lack of staff. I heard they were short wait staff and cooks. People were waiting a very long time to get their food.
Food was decent, and yes, it used to be very busy. I don't think it was a cost of rent issue.

Re: New Construction S Liberty Pkwy/N Flintlock Rd

I don't know for sure, but I know the master plan for that area was to connect 69 Highway directly to Flintlock, and remove the 'deadend' at the Pleasant Valley road/I-35 interchange.

A Subway coming to NE Vivion Road.
The Ross has been open for months. That site plan is old.

The Subway opened awhile back in Foxwoods.

Yes, the Northland would be defined as Clay and Platte counties within the metro area.

Dunkin Donuts on Antioch in the Meadowbrook shopping center in Gladstone.
Popeyes demo and rebuild new concept next door.

Re: New Northland Road construction 435 and 210 Interchange

This intersection is awful. I drive through it everyday. The two through lanes have semi truck traffic merging from 210 to south 435. And then east bound 210 traffic takes the third south bound lane. The two merges are right after each other which makes for a very dangerous 1/2 mile. Also 435 is 3 l...

Re: Development at Brighton and NE 80th/MO-152

The existing buildings east of Brighton and north of Soccer drive (80th) are condos and row homes. All owner occupied.

There are plans to build an apartment complex just west of the existing homes, and commercial directly along Brighton. Google Brighton Creek for plans from a few years ago.

Re: Metro North Mall

The Northland's growth will eventually allow for multiple retail nodes. Its a shame three of them are located off of M-152/Barry Rd. Metro North Mall has always been the central location for everyone to shop. The nearby neighborhoods are old, but that has nothing to do with the client base for the n...

No, MD management, current Metro North Mall owners are working by themselves.
Antioch is being done by the folks that re did Blue Ridge Mall.

It's almost done with construction. It's off Flintlock, and very close to numerous subdivisions, retail, and the area has seen huge growth and potential.

This is great for Zona Rosa. Its been open for nearly 8 years and is still actively marketing its retail space.

I am not sure the Northland can support three locations. When you think about Home Depot and Lowes, they too have locations here and at I-29/152 and I-35/152. I think the North Oak Location is fine. It has very easy access to I-29, and also serves those who live downtown and River market. I just hop...

Re: Zona Rosa hotel

Zona Rosa has always had a hotel or two as part of their masterplan. Other Steiner developments have multiple hotels.
I think it would be a great site. ZR is so close to the airport. It would be a great spot for a business travel to get to dinner and drinks.

Re: Menards coming to Northland!

How many home improvement stores can one small area support? There are going to be three of them within a mile of each other. The Northland currently has three Home Depots, three Lowes, two Sutherlands, numerous ACE hardware stores. Menards will be an interesting add to the mix. 10+ big box home im...

Re: Menards coming to Northland!

While I'm excited that new retail is coming to KC north, I don't think we need to continue to consume farmland to do so. What about the Barry Towne center one exit east? That big box retail center is half empty and its less than 15 years old. Or what about the Metro North Mall site? Why continue to ...
