Re: Cosentino's Grocery downtown
Take a deep breath... You guys realize this is just a grocery store right? You're making it sound like Las Vegas has just relocated to KC. The rest of the metro thinks the celebration of a grocery store is something out of a Beverly Hillbillies script and I have to agree. Act like you've been to ...

Re: Downtown Hereford House Explosion
Folks, let's be honest. DT HH passed it's prime years ago and is really only suitable for tourists who don't know what a steak should be. More than a few Kansas Citians refer to HH' offerings as Hereford Pucks. Capital Grille, 801 and Ruth's provide a far superior product that frankly negates HH ...

Re: TimeWarnerCable may pass satellite in HD channels
If you don't like Nickelodeon, Noggin, MTV, VH1, Comedy Central, CMT, and SpikeTV (go off air tonight). Then Time Warner is fine. They are in legal battles all the time and we lose channels or don't receive new ones b/c of them. We will be switching to satellite. Free HD is exactly as the advertise...

i am the same, but about 6-8 times a year, i wanna catch a movie. sometimes it looks that damned good, sometimes i just wanna go out. and when i do, paying like 10-12 bucks to catch a show, i expect the best. You "expect the best for ten or twelve bucks?" What do you expect from a highly...

Depends on how particular you are about the experience. Do you care about the quality of the sound? The size of the screen? The amount of footroom? The elevation of your seat? The quality of the concessions? The customer service? The ease of ticket buying? The behavior of your seat neighbor...

For a group sooooo passionate about redevelopment and improving KC, you sure seem to be ignorant in regard to what's driving it. TIF for Dummies: Surrender tax revenue NOT CURRENTLY BEING GENERATED in exchange for a NEW AMENITY or IMPROVED INFRASTRUCTURE. A third of this forum would be living/worki...

Re: Domestic Auto Industry
Interesting article, but the thread title should be More Auto Worker Union Waste. There is nothing in there about this having anything to do with the execs of the Big Three - although I'm sure they have boondoggles that will make this look lilliputian in comparison. That was my point. There seems...

Re: Collison: KC redevelopment at 25 percent its normal level
A lousy economy and the FACT that KC's MAJOR ($$$$$) projects are built. Keep in mind we've had several billion dollars spent in the past two years on the IRS Facility, Fed Reserve, P&L and Sprint Center.

If you were a real red-blooded American male you would have bought domestic. I've had several brand new GM/Ford products...the combined repair costs of all within their first three years of operations would have bought a brand new BMW 5-series. American's should stick to what they build best...dec...

For $12/day roundtrip, I may consider taking applications to haul suckers to work in my comfortable 8 passenger Toyo Sequoia. They save the "strain and embarassment" of driving and I'll pocket roughly $21k a year for beer money. If anyone's interested please shoot me a PM. It'll cost an...

Unfortunately nothing...a precident has been set and upheld that you can be held captive on the tarmac as long as required. Most us think they should pull back to the terminal and let everyone off, but for whatever reason it doesn't happen that way. There was just a story on the news about a 9+ ho...
