Re: Boulevardia - June 13-15, 2014

I love how Stone isn't coming. What's the story on that? They sent out a bunch of arrogant and nasty tweets after boulevard sold about not "selling out" and was pretty clear who they were talking about. All those beer guys are fairly close guys but I think the Stone guys turned their nose...

I heard that Dogfish Head was supposed to be there too? I hope!
They're putting together food line up too. We were asked yesterday! :D

Re: Anton's

Sorry didn't mean to call you out.... you have to have a HACCAP plan to do that stuff. I like him a lot and didn't want to see him in trouble.... There could always be competitors trolling to get people in trouble and pictures are bad!! :)

Re: Beaumont Club closing

From what I've heard, yes, it used to be. Or somewhere in Manor Square had a mini-golf. There was a mini-golf place called City Golf there in there at least until 1991. Entrance was up the steps on the Westport Rd side of the building. When was that building built? I have a photo that i think is fr...

Re: Locatarian eats|shops|markets

Never said I hated Ks, It's a Missoura restaurant that's why Hammer press cut my business cards in the shape of Missouri. People just read into shit so much. Get over it. If I did a french restaurant and only served french wines and didn't offer Ks wines would you hate me for it? A Mexican restaura...

Re: Rye

There might be a wee bit more chefs from Kansas City then the three mentioned. Cafe sabastine has a chef from kc, lidia's has a chef from kc, Justus has a chef from the kc area. I might not be notable but I'm from the kc area and was born on the street my restaurant is now located on. I have worked...

Re: Rye

I'll admit, I'm a little knocked on the nose about Rye and the choice of Mission Farms as it's location. With all respect, it seems like an amazing opera singer choosing to perform in Miami instead of New York City. Sure, Miami is a great city, but the best of the best should be where the best of t...

Re: Rye

As suburban joco locations go, mission farms is a breeze to get to. No highway driving from midtown just a decent drive down ward pkwy to lee or mission and down. Of course I would love rye to be in the urban core, but it isn't. We are willing to make the drive for the food. Hopefully we will be in...

Re: Rye

I assume they have rye whiskey, since they have cocktails, and its a pretty essential part of the current mixologist cannon. But more than that, I think its just a name in keeping with the "native prairie grasses" theme a la bluestem. It's named after the grain like bluestem is native gra...

Re: Rye

It's not really "bias" to just refuse to leave the suburbs to eat in a city's urban core . I live in San Mateo now and I would never in a million years travel to a restaurant in San Francisco . I know I'm not alone. It doesn't make sense when there are dozens and dozens of great options n...

Re: Rye

It's a 15 minute drive from downtown to Mission Farms. I understand if one doesn't have a car, but if you do, it's not exactly a trek to get there. That is a stretch. You could maybe get there in 15 minutes if you were speeding quite a bit, traffic was light, and every light on 71 was green. I live...

I hope people will put aside their biases and understand we are a metro wide city and come and see us. We are doing this r...

Re: Blanc Burgers & Bottles

Winteads, Town topic, and the Flea's burgers are much different then Blanc's and BRGR. The first guys purposely use thin patties and "griddle" their burgers.. (Flea may grill their's but it's still a thin patty)they are not supposed to be cooked to mid rare.. they're supposed to be thin, a...
