Re: Drury Plaza Hotel

The entire project needs to be rethought. Sorry Drury.

You could easily do mixed use, affordable housing, and hotel here, right? If we're talking incentives?

Re: Drury Plaza Hotel

I bet you could get a majority here for taking it down with any resemblance of a thought out project. As it is, why even bother?

Re: Drury Plaza Hotel

There's nothing good about this development. It's just reused highway offramp repurposed as downtown development to try to grab cheap public money. Next to the Sprint center.

No thanks, go away

Re: Bird Scooters Have Landed

I ride them almost exclusively on Grand. Assholes will be assholes. I actually struggle with etiquette. I don't want to drive on sidewalks, but i also don't feel safe driving on the side of the road, especially around intersections. In the very rare situation where I'm around a busy street, I drive ...

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

I'd like the plaza to embrace more of it's name. I'd love to take the streetcar there and have lunch and walk around and eat outside. They should turn the middle into a pedestrian park and have outdoor seating and pop up carts selling stuff. Don't get me wrong here, but they could even look to Spain...

Re: Bird Scooters Have Landed

Do they lock even if checked out? I unlocked one but took some time... Like 10 seconds to start moving it... Then when I did the alarm went off. I ended up having to end my ride and checking it out again. I want my 1.15 back! Lol Sometimes on the app they ask you for things? Did you check that? If ...

Oh and we passed the two year anniversary of them both doing absolutely fuck all. I was not invited to any birthday parties.

Re: Old Federal Reserve (925 Grand)

I complained about the developer again and the city still has done nothing. Does that count?

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

I mean it is kind of funny how much a drugstore is talked about. Nothing wrong with gently mocking people, as you do all the time. The plaza is just weird. Single owner, height restrictions, historical significance, and so on. It's not the way I would ever run a neighborhood, but I don't live there....

Re: Bird Scooters Have Landed

Go find an empty lot, we have thousands of them. haha, that's fair. I was talking more about when they launch. Do launch events where they can teach people the rules and let them use them in a controlled area, as opposed to just giving out select trials before dropping 100 in a day. Just not their ...

Re: Bird Scooters Have Landed

I feel safer driving on the streets, but I've avoided busy roads. I still wish they'd block off an area and let us go play without worrying about hitting a pedestrian or car.

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

Yeah, the plaza is mostly made up of single use buildings. The bowl design makes it hard to be mixed use because, well, you can't build up.

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

The plaza has so many handicaps between single ownership and zoning restrictions that it's going to be hard to change. Is there much harm in letting it become an older part of the community? Neighborhoods change and I think the plaza is moving more towards retired baby-boomers on the outside and saf...

I was trying to stay on really quiet streets so I went up the east side from river market. It was...a mistake.

Re: Three Light

It insulates those residents from the environment. Can lead to them turning their retail or amenities more intenral not street facing..... I just don't see the need for it... I just don't see it, and really the opposite. Amenities are always going to be insulating. If we can keep the exclusive amen...

Re: Bird Scooters Have Landed

These are more dangerous than I expected. I know they say not to go up hills, but I did, mea culpa, and I'm sure the driver behind me got a good laugh watching me try to peddle and steer and not fall over. I wonder if they've ever thought about blocking off a block or two on a slow day to let people...

Re: Three Light

I don't visually like skybridges at that height. I don't see the hassle of riding the elevator to L instead of 4 to go across the street. I don't like taking pedestrians off the street. I guess I'd argue they're not pedestrians, they're residents. I'm a little more open to the visual argument thoug...

Re: Three Light

I'm open to being wrong here. What's the objection to the bridge for private residents? I completely understand the objection for public buildings, but I don't get it here. If someone wants to throw on a cover-up, walk to the pool, and not have to go through traffic and crosswalks, what's the object...

Re: Three Light

There's a place to be against bridges, but imho this is not one of them. I'm sorry, but I like being lazy and walking into common areas with a coffee at 9am and not having to be dressed up. I don't want someone to tell me to go to a coffee shop or go to a bar. I think you guys have this one wrong. I...

Re: Three Light

What is the purpose of the skybridge link? If you don''t live in the building, what need to go over? Is the pool in 3L actually smaller despite being a larger building? Is there a separate pool for the condos on an upper amenity deck? I know at two light they are going to have a bar, food, and even...
