Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

That's not true. The royals contributed significantly less last time than the chiefs did.

People downtown were talking about it and the owners immediately shut it down.

Had no interest in investing downtown.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

I never really threw this out, but my other idea was for the chiefs to build their Hof downtown along with a sporting KC style bar at the new royals location. Kinda get rid of this charade that we're ever going to develop tsc, and keep the two teams connected. How fun. Like have the teams hotel conn...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

With some of the best sports architects in the world. I said ground level Hof, club store, children's area, and supporters bar to make sure the whole area was activated year around. And then an event spaces to rent out when the royals weren't there. One around the fountains for warm weather, club l...

Re: OFFICIAL - City Club Apartments (former Midwest Hotel)

So the property is in receivership. Willow bridge dropped out, city club is gone. The new management is yarco company. I have a few more details, but it includes too much personal stuff to screenshot. If I know you and you you want more information, feel free to contact me. Told they're actively loo...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

I think it’s odd that the anger is being reflected on the voters. Like we have an obligation to vote for whatever shit they throw in front of us. They did a bad job! It's not my job to let them fail upwards. If they would have talked to any of us, they would have known the crossroads location would...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

I just checked out the stadium area on foot for the first time. I have to say, that area is a dump. There are few if any businesses or buildings between Grand and Oak that seem worth saving. I got dinner at Mama Ramen wanting to support the only ramen restaurant downtown, and after that experience ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

I can't and won't speak for the crossroads, but my issue was never save the art district. My concern is that they don't own any land so a significant part of the royals contribution is going to go towards land acquisition. The ev was all banked. I'm worried the areas that they don't get will not get...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

One of the best campaigns we ever did was sprint center. It was paid for with a hotel and rental car tax. Enterprise, based in stl, came out hard against it. Just went hard core anti-stl and it was super effective. 😂 you’ll still find people that won’t rent from them based on that campaign 😂 The pe...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

100%. Now over what period of time, I don’t know. Cordish has held up their end of their master development agreement with no end in sight on expansion. Perhaps not at everyone’s preferred pace but the deal didn’t specify certain projects by certain dates. Ballpark Village got done. There are other...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Does anyone here actually think the royals are going to spend $1 billion of their own money? It’s completely made up. 100%. Now over what period of time, I don’t know. Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Trying to spook people into voting yes isn't going to work. KC and jaxco specifically have been easy yes votes for these teams for years, this falls on those teams feet for fumbling this if it gets defeated. Give us who want to convince others the ammo to do it. Right now it's nothing. Agree with t...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

The problem is we’re asked to imagine. I want them to commit. I have no idea what I’m voting for. If you read back through my comments when East village was favored, I said the same thing. I’m not an idiot. There are still empty lots next to sprint center, and places never leased at power and light....

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

I have no problem with people that vote differently than me. I think it’s a hard choice. I respect what Chris said a lot, but I want to push back on it a bit. I worry more about the royals because it’s defining the future of a neighborhood. I care less about the chiefs because it’s already a parking...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

I should have included mayor q in it, but I know what I’m talking about. Just want everyone to know.

They actively lobbied hard against east village. It’s okay, we all know what happened.

Let’s see if it works.
