Re: Two Light - 14th & Grand

Maybe Cerner could finally contribute to the urban core and sponsor the park. Enough of their employees live right around there. I think it's reasonable to expect property owners along there to contribute, but with city and state funding this shouldn't be hard to do. Having a central park would be a...

Re: City Center Square for sale

I've not been in a small urban footprint target but based on size it seems like it would just be a CVS from a selection perspective anyways? Maybe more home goods and less shoe pads? I wouldn't expect a bunch of clothes and home furnishings. I agree with this. Maybe like a bigger lightbulb section ...

Re: City Center Square for sale

I'm not sure the pharmacy business is what they'd be competing on.

I don't know enough about the business to know how lucrative it is, but I spend a lot of time in CVS and rarely see people in the back.

Food, alcohol, daily essentials

Re: City Center Square for sale

So I heard a rumor at CVS that they're doing very well and looking to expand hours. And that "they might have more competition soon."

Put this at the bottom of my trust level, but there might be something here.

is there any reason, if we dream, that target wouldn't go in here? Does Cosentinos have an exclusive still?

Re: City Center Square for sale

I hear proposals and see renderings a lot for what people want. They very rarely go quickly, let alone happen.

They might really want Target here, and I wish them good luck.

Re: New Broadway Bridge

Is there a law saying that a gas tax has to be put to a vote? Or does the state legislature just do it for political reasons?

I know politics is hard but our gas tax is stupidly low.

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC

This seems like a pretty bad outcome to me. Delayed to the point where we really can't predict transportation trends. Mixed streetcar is awful to begin with. I think it's getting harder to defend this project. Quite dramatic I mean so far they've failed at River front expansion and South expansion....

Ww1 is a fantastic museum.

Steamboat Arabia is a private museum that he desperately wants public money from. Sorry, no thanks

They sell a lot of artifacts and invest almost nothing in the museum as well.

Remember that it'll be further subsidized by schools and other local government crap.

Let him go.

I wouldn't call him a scammer, but he does this shit like every year. And sometimes they come pretty close to the line.

If the state is paying for it, I want it to be state property.

Re: Status and future of the River Market area??

As part of the bill they should say that no money can be taken out of the museum or any government funded operations without reimbursing the state. That family would run away in record time. “None of your family can work here and all new artifacts must be from sources outside of your family.” "No o...

Looks like this is basically true: went here for the downtown dazzle thing and point blank asked what was going on with cellar rat; they said cellar rat changed course on doing this and passed the project over to some entity that's going to do a kaleo/health/whatever concept, but that cellar rat wou...

I saw some people doing work at the southern corner where the wine bar was supposed to be. Anyone want to check the permits and see if anything is going on or if they were just scouting? Nothing with a McGee address in that block for the last six months. https://www.utgreenkc.com Can't quite figure...
