Re: OFFICIAL - East9 (former Pickwick Plaza)

The coffee shop here is under construction and the restaurant seems to have started basic work.

Does anyone have any hope that what they propose building here won't be complete trash? Please make me feel better.

Yeah, it looks like it's prepared for lighting. It's not ideal, but could be worse. Landscape and lighting should be fine.

Re: Kansas, Missouri battle over companies

So now it's an incentive fight which is so annoying. I really hope this ends up at ccs. Crown center would be...fine.

If this ends up just being Sprint prison hq backfill, I'd rather them stay in dc

Thanks!

Wish they would have sorted by location, but it'll give me something to do some night. :D

Re: Kansas, Missouri battle over companies

Something I read said this agency is like 200 below their normal guess. That could be huge under a different adminstration.

Sounds like this might be a fight though, even though I'm a fan of distributing work outside DC.

I love the idea of kcrag being a representative rule of anything too.

Like we make public policy for the city.

You'd have a better chance of feral kittens than this group agreeing on a group leader.

Re: Clay Chastain coming back with light rail

If Clay can get a transit initiative on the ballot every other year, it can’t be that hard to do so. Why don’t we make our own KCRAG transit petition for kicks and giggles? I propose the Kansas City Regional Accessibility and Growth Plan With backronym skills like that I thinking you're now require...

I feel sorry for him because he obviously has an unhealthy mental obsession with these weird plans that's broken up his marriage and made him ostracized in the city he's obsessed with.

The dude needs help.

Re: Next Mayor 2019

I don't have the poll, but important to remember that the moe applies to individual percentages and not to the difference between the two.

I think it's fair to say that Lucas has a narrow lead in a race with high uncertainty. It'd be interesting to see the campaigns internals.

Re: Power and Light District Official Tenant List

This seems...fine? I don't get the outrage of successful restaurant moving to better serve the customers they're seeing.

Seems like a good sign that places are adapting to downtown now instead of behind them to just open up.

It honestly annoys me that he trashes kcpride, and then is like on the alternative I nominate that street to be decided later the center of all sober, lgbtq.

A lot of people put real time and effort into that.

Not going to lose too much sleep here

We're going to look a little glassy from the view, but it's inevitable.

Ah long as they mix up the glass and design in okay.

Re: Making downtown more pedestrian friendly

I think this might be a little overblown. My read of it is that it's an unclear project with regulatory issues and no funding. I don't think any of it has too much to do with rejecting the advocacy. Tbh I read the whole article and couldn't figure out what he wanted. Pride has too much sex and drink...

It's a campaign and they hold very similar positions, so at some point character was going to become an issue.

I can't wait to see the floor plans on those penthouse spaces. I have no problem with the walkway here. One of the few areas where it makes perfect sense. I like the different design. Also interested to see how they split up the amenities between them now. Should allow for something cool. I approve....

Re: OFFICIAL - Strata (H&R Block's 2nd Tower)

I think they have a timeline to begin construction in order to receive the incentives in the contract, so that may have some bearing on why it is even "spec" in the first place. Incentives too sweet to pass up even if you don't have a tenant. I think hr block had some role in this too. Weren't they...

I worry this won't really be spec and they're just waiting around until they find a tenant.
They had been in serious talks with a few potential tenants.
Yeah, this just seems more Corrigan take two than I wanted.
