I'm not sure any of this is new info, but here is a summary of the development from today's Star:

^^ Agreed. Good luck with the juggle. Remember, focus on keeping the blue one in the air no matter what! Good luck never hurts but Colby and Megan are planners and that is what will make them successful. Well, that and a strong masochistic tendency ;-) Looking forward to Rye. I never visited the pr...

Re: Maker Faire hands on geek fest - Union Station
I took my kids both days, and we had a good time. Some goofy stuff, some cool stuff. Funny, they loved just having huge boxes of legos to play with, which they have at home, but there's a certain freedom to having hundreds of red bricks all the same size that you don't get with the sets usually. Yo...

Re: all star game transportation
First, thanks to KC Max for the assist on the blog thread. It makes me wonder how I manage to get around town without a guide! #-o While it's true that people living on a fixed-budget are unlikely to be attending this event anyway, renting a car here isn't cheap. I don't know where we rank nationwid...

Re: Blogs about KC visits
Not a blog entry but we were on the MAX bus coming home from Maker Faire and these two 'hip' upper 20 somethings from Minneapolis were sitting behind us. He had the whole Bob Dylan demeanor and bushy unkempt hair that I've seen in MSP. She was in gypsy scarfs and kind of flamboyant. They came acros...

Re: Springfield Cashew Chicken
Maybe we should have a KCRag Forum roadtrip to Springfield for a meal. Perhaps there's a RD4L we could hit on the way. Anybody in? Great idea. I looked at the RD4L Store Locator and the nearest location to us is . . . (drum roll) Springfield MO. If the road trip is successful, maybe we can suggest ...

Re: Kansas City to get 2012 MLB All-Star Game
Social Media group will help ASG visitors: It’s All-Star week in Kansas City. A woman stands atop the Liberty Memorial and wonders on Twitter how tall it is. A visitor asks for suggestions for the nearest barbecue joint on the Visit KC Facebook page. Another man “checks in” on Foursquare after landi...

Our 4-seat package had $60 in parking charges. Not sure how that breaks down among the events.

Re: KC in TV and Movies
I nearly fell off of the treadmill today when I saw an ad that showed a WalMart spokesperson wandering through the Golden Ox dining room, telling diners that the steak they had just eaten was WalMart beef and asking for their reactions. I had to actually google it to make sure I hadn't hallucinated ...

The other film was "The Cool and the Crazy." We used to live there (when we were cool and crazy).

Re: OFFICIAL: Power & Light District
And Union Station had to be almost entirely re-purposed (I'm starting to hate that word but it is descriptive) to get to some level of solvency. I'm not sure that kind of make-over is even possible for P&L given location, occupancy in the immediate area and sheer size. The way it was built, it r...

Re: Foodies, step up and rep on Anthony Bourdain: No Reserva
Overall, I was left underwhelmed with the episode. What a waste of time to show that "hair" museum. WTF? They could have spent that time with more of the Green Dirt Farm dinner or another spot. Very happy that LC's made the cut. Zamir's schtick got kind of old by the end of the show. I ag...

I've known people who have attended these in the Chicago area but this is the first such event I'm aware of in KC.

Re: Old Mama's spot 39th/Bell
Interesting menus but it's listed as American and approx half of the dishes are Asian (bulgogi, teriyaki). The price point should make them popular as long as the flavor is there. Don't get lost in the "Breakfast Desert" though  That must be the #1 menu misspelling in the English lang...

Re: Andrews McMeel debate (from Recalling the Funk.)
I worked for a company that had leased Boley and started a build-out. There were a LOT of factors that came into play that caused us to default on our agreement on that and two other buildings in DTKC. Some of the decision making was questionable but a lot of what happened was fairly unpredictable b...

Re: Kansas City to get 2012 MLB All-Star Game
Not sports, exactly, but if anyone has any pull with either the All Star planners or the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, they REALLY need to step-up and at least power wash their HQ building. Not much they can do about the architecture but jeez, is that an eyesore.

If there must be chains, they should all be as good as Corner Bakery.
