Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't been to Wrigley yet. What is life during non game hours around that area? It's generally active; there are a huge number of apartments and bars around that area. Wrigley is hundred years old so it's formed organically along with the stadium vs. a stadium plopped down on a vacant part of t...

Re: Armory Block Redevelopment at 3620 Main

Are the townhomes in the parcel that is a parking lot behind the strip mall? I checked Parcel Viewer and it said they belong to a charity of some kind. "Variety House LLC" 3626 Main St Kansas City, MO 64111. This is an absolutely great project. Looks like an excellent combination of infill and new c...

Re: Affordable Housing

https://cityscenekc.com/streetcar-linked-affordable-housing-incentive-plan-on-track-for-city-hall/ The PIEA is asking the city to allow it to offer up to the maximum property tax abatement allowed by state law, 25 years at 100 percent, for developers who follow the guidelines of a proposed city affo...

Re: Troost developments

The building that burned is going to be demolished for the apartment project. The 3-story building to the south -- on the corner with the faded Auto World sign -- is not being demolished as part of that project. What's the address of the burned building? I thought it looked like the Auto World buil...

Was the building that burned going to be razed or renovated for the new project?
From my review of the PIEA submittal documents, the building on NE Corner of Brush Creek Blvd and Troost is outside the scope of the 45th & Troost Mixed Use proposal.

Re: Phoenix

Agree, Tucson and Flagstaff both nice, Phoenix is a giant suburb, a place to just exist. Stayed at a resort hotel for work event though in Tucson, which felt like isolated entrapment. Was it like Lowes Ventana Canyon or Starr Pass? If you explore 4th Avenue, Downton and the University along the str...

Re: New Broadway Bridge

So much of the peak use slowdown comes from bad ramp access. For example, removing the backups onto Broadway from I-35 will help as many people go faster as the north loop removal would lead to going slower. It would encourage more traffic to take 670 to 35 for example. Related, theres plenty of ca...

We're trying out some new "basic" shelters to replace the blue tanks: https://ridekc.org/blog/bus-shelter

Take the survey!

I'm getting a "Page Not Found" error.

Re: New Broadway Bridge

If I recall, the additional time would be like 7 minutes at max.

If MODOT removes several exits along I670, we can mitigate this. i'm very annoyed that MODOT has taken all that BeyondTheLoop worked for and threw it in the shredder.

Re: Downtown Buildings with Activity

I disagree. Picklemans pizza and soups are good. I ate there many times when I lived in downtown Columbia mo. Get the French dip, chipotle chicken, or baja chicken soup. People like the pizzas too. Typically they make their food faster than they can build this location. I’d put them slightly lower t...

It is $25billion, but that's just the maximum amount of bonds to be issued.

It is the Hunt Midwest Business Center.

Gooooogle Data Center

Per Kevin Collison twitter, I just happened to look down on my phone: https://twitter.com/kckansascity/status/1153408771005325312 Breaking: Google considering $600M data center in KC, just announced at @PortKC. Fewer than 100 employees though. Proposed Google data center would be 78 acre site in exi...

The light brick was added to align with the facade of the rest of Saint Luke's facilities. I presume they received a tenant allowance of some kind when they leased the space.

Re: Streetcar to the riverfront

Agree with all being said above. One minor issue; instead of a stand alone building for the museum, I was thinking something along the lines of a couple of levels of ground floor space in a new mid-rise office or apartment tower. https://berkleyriverfront.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/Berkley-River...

Re: Streetcar to the riverfront

At first I was totally against this expansion, as I believed it would be better long-term for connectivity to NKC if the long term goal is North Oak > KCI light rail. However, cost of crossing HoA bridge is a difficult hurdle. However, the streetcar expansion to the Riverfront gets more and more com...

Is this related to the work already stared on the west side of the building? No, I don't believe so. That is the separate 4050 Pennsylvania Ave that an advertising firm is moving into. https://42floors.com/us/mo/kansas-city/4050-pennsylvania-ave https://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/news/2018/10/1...
