Re: The View at the West Bottom II (Weld Wheel Building)

Some of those pix are terrifying. Plus, I may have seen a dead body.

Re: Next Mayor 2019

All the non-progressives (Nigro, DeJanes, Cashill, etc) are supporting Lucas because they think he is malleable and can be swayed to their point of view.

They are probably correct, which is a great reason to vote for Justus.

Re: Kansas, Missouri battle over companies

from twitter:

Perdue also punted on the nature of $26 million in state and local incentives being offered to relocate a federal government agency. Says if governments want to disclose that type of information, they can if they choose.

Do we know which incentives were used?

Re: Uptown Shoppes

You're still not getting it. You're changing *which* pedestrians would have priority. That corner has been a parking lot since at least 1955. The shopping center dates to between 59 and 63. The shopping center is facing the parking lot but by having the building on the back side of the lot it was e...

Re: Uptown Shoppes

KC used to be more pedestrian-friendly as a whole because that's how society was. I don't get why you get to define the "ideal" - as it seems to ignore a large part of the population. Development isn't going to drive new behavior. Behavior is going to drive new development. As a resident and tax pa...

Re: Tracks 215 Project

I get that. That phrase seems to reflect Main and maybe one block either way.

Your definition applies to the entire TDD, which would yield different real estate valuation results, I'd think.

It is a cool exhibit. I plan on spending a couple of summer days lying on my back underneath and pretending I'm at the beach.

Do you think that affected the currents upstream? Would the bend have calmed the entire flow?

Rain kept me away. Oddly there is another, (different) one scheduled for October?

I heard some chatter about rival porchfests.

Edit: the one last weekend was "Valentine Porchfest", the one in October is "Porchfest KC"

Didnt Reed lie about having a degree? I'd hide from his endorsement.
He walked at the graduation. Reed legitimately thought that he had earned the degree(and IIRC he pretty much had minus 1 class)
Ha! No, he knew.

It will pass and be immediately appealed.

All the red states with full legislative control (both houses and the gov) are passing new bans to entice the supreme court to overturn Roe v. Wade now that Kavanaugh has been confirmed.

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar

So a buddy of mine that lives in OKC said they are already expanding their 4.6 mile initial line and have ordered 2 more streetcars. I don't understand why our extensions are taking forever to materialize. Also their main 4.6 mile line cost $136M or so? Seems our 2.2 mile line cost at least that mu...
