Re: Outdoor dining in St. Louis

Someone should look at the different cities ordinances on sidewalk dining and approach the council with improvements. If you see a sidewalk cafe with a barrier, it's likely a restaurant with a liquor license, because the sidewalk is a part of their "licensed premise". And the barrier does...

Au Pied de Cochon in Montreal serves poutine with an ethereal gravy and topped with seared foie gras.

Sublime.

Chris Wilborn says he thinks he has an older panoramic photo that shows the south side of the building--he has many of Anderson's old negs (Anderson used to be at 1924 Main). He's at 531-9000.

Re: Grilling in City Market Park

It's not a city park. Just call the City Market office, 842-1271, if you have a question. I've seen people grill there...I've even seen people pick up after themselves.

Re: Grunauer - Austrian restaurant in Freighthouse District

The sausages (from NY) were tasty--they're baking their own bread--and the beer selection was quite fine. The menu is definitely Austrian, not German...I was fascinated to learn that chorizo is of Austrian origin...and that Austrians don't eat fish, and definitely aren't vegetarian...hopefully, with...

They had a deal with Highwoods on the Plaza that fell through, so don't assume that they will be out in the burbs.

Re: New Cajun Restaurant

There are differences between Cajun and Creole, but there are so many similarities that it's useless to argue about it, though south Louisianans love to do so. The two groups both have French backgrounds, but are from very different places. French Creoles were originally French settlers in New Orlea...

City Market. Rent is affordable.

And, as someone who travels to SW LA with the family once a year (Lafayette, Breau Bridge, Opelousas), good luck to you, and I am looking forward to sending plenty of business your way.

They ARE still trying to get a liquor license.  They have been jumping regulated industries (liquor control) hurdles and when they spend sixty days working to clear one, then they say, "oh by the way, you NOW need to...." As of last week, they were told/promised that the current hurdle is...
