Re: Muehlebach Hotel / KC Club Project

It was just a rudimentary calculation whith no time to sit and do all of the math. No need to be a dick about it but thanks for figuring it out to the last 70 cents. Should never have to sit down and figure numbers when there's free spreadsheet software available to do it for you. Enter $250k in A1...

Re: Bike Lanes

Armour bike lanes are being installed starting today. If you haven't been on this stretch lately, the lane striping appears to be finished - parking 'bubbles' have been striped and bike lanes on each lane better parking and curbs. Between this and the work MAC did on the apartments, these few block...

Re: Status and future of the River Market area??

I heard a rumor that the Farmhouse was leaving the current location and 'moving south.' When I asked if that meant south as in down the street, to the Crossroads or to Johnson county? The person said that's all they knew, other than they decided they couldn't afford the increase in rent. Anyone else...

Crown Center wouldn't build a large hotel when they struggle to fill the ~1,400 rooms it has during non-convention or event periods.

Re: favorite under-the-radar mexican places in the kansas city area?

I don't find much downtown that is better than average. However Los Alamos on Summit has great food, especially breakfast. It's a little rough around the edges, but the red (spicy) and green (mild) pork is amazing. On the Blvd, the only place that stands out is El Patron, but if you want margaritas ...

Re: Old Federal Reserve (925 Grand)

I don't want to go too off topic, but I'd love to get inside the Hyatt and see what they have planned. They need to be downtown, yeah? Maybe we should start a separate Hyatt thread. They need a developer to step up. I agree we should start a speculation thread. Is The Hilton President the only Hilt...

Has anyone been in the Embassy Suites on the Plaza recently? Wondering what kind of shape it is in - the last I heard it was in pretty bad shape, but that was years ago. Hilton seems to be eager to keep a presence in the area and wondering if they'll keep two Embassy Suites in such close proximity w...

I went to the Gap on Saturday and found a shirt I liked but didn't want to spend $50. Their current promo was BOGO 50 and I couldn't find anything else I wanted. Happened to look for the shirt on gap.com where it was on sale for $32 and I could have chosen to pick it up in store for no charge. I fou...

Where does the boundary to Westport end on the north side? I always thought Westport ended on the south side of 39th, with Valentine beginning on the north side...which is the side Mr. Nigro's law firm is on. Interestingly enough, his law firm is roughly the same distance (.3 miles) from the interse...

Saw DeJanes on KSHB last night - describing her SmartKC as leading the contingent of Westport businesses against the streetcar because people would have to walk .4 miles from the stop to Westport, but the businesses still have to pay the extra tax.

It’s delayed until 5/15. Meanwhile, if anyone here lives in Hyde Park, you may want to start demanding answers from the HPNA about what they’ve been scheming on. It sounds like they are searching for a way to come out in opposition to the entire project. At the Fourth District community meeting las...

There's not much competition in the area, and Sun Fresh, Cosentino's and Price Chopper (Brookside) all have higher prices than stores in other parts of town; not to mention their prices have come down considerably since being bought by Amazon. The grab and go section will do great with students and ...
