Re: NFL Draft

Maybe the gondolas will be up and running by then

At least the organizers will have Vegas, Cleveland and the 2022 city to use to tweak the plans on what did and didn't work previously.

Re: Bringing Conventions to Kansas City

And given your opinion, you don't think anyone would've gone to Nashville because you wouldn't want to go? Probably half the people who would attend the draft party are solely interested in the party and not the actual draft. And yet there are plenty of opportunities in KC for fan fest-type activiti...

Re: Bringing Conventions to Kansas City

Yeah we all saw Nashville attendance at the draft. Don't expect that here. Why not? This event has been growing since it moved out of NYC, and I bet there will be just as many people in Vegas next year. If reports are true and Cleveland gets it in 2021, there are six teams within a couple hours' dr...

Re: Porchfest

I saw on social media (can't remember where) that it was being rescheduled to Sunday because of the weather, but when I drove through Valentine on Saturday it looked like it was going on - food trucks, signs, people walking around. So there was probably some confusion that prevented larger attendance.

I love the design - one of the first new buildings in the area (west of the HOA bridge) that looks like it belongs there. And for a pet hospital!

DLS Tire at 3744 Broadway is closing (or closed). Friends of mine who have a neighboring business inquired about buying it - apparently the property was snatched up as soon as it was listed.

Re: Imperial Brewery (across from Margaritas)

Thanks. The photo on the Biz Journal article led me to believe it included the Imperial Brewery. I've always felt that Cambridge Business Park was underutilized given it's location and highway access.

Re: Imperial Brewery (across from Margaritas)

An article in the Biz Journal (which I can't view) mentions the Imperial Brewery as part of a new development proposal from Copaken Brooks and Dean Realty. Can anyone provide more details? https://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/news/2019/05/13/copaken-brooks-dean-realty-joint-venture-downtown.html?i...

Re: KC metro growth and migration stats

Witchita has been growing pretty fast. In fact, they have 100k more people than STL now. Anyone know what’s going on down there? I had thought their oil and aerospace industries were on the decline. I was born and raised in Wichita and family still lives there, so I visit often. Despite efforts to ...

Did anyone catch Jolies horrible idea regarding a city department of transportation? Instead of putting money towards the capital necessary to fix the issues, given the various departments and crews we already have, we should totally just put more money into staffing another person inside City Hall...

0% vacancy (100% occupancy) is unprecedented. Industry averages; normalizing for regions/etc: Target is ~72% - 75%. For a product class to have 90% or above suggests market demand. Interesting the rumors, of late, are Hyatt. "Park Hyatt" would likely be the product offering. What is most curious is...

So in 2031 all of the artists will be priced out of the Crossroads once the abatement expires...or it will need to be extended.

Re: We are getting a new airport!!!

I was just in San Antonio over the weekend, where they've been renovating the airport for years (I think maybe complete now). They have two parking structures in the location where ours is, and the structure nearest the main terminal is dedicated to car rentals. Will our new airport leave our curren...
