Re: Amazon searching for second HQ

And Wal-mart several years ago turned into a giant consignment shop - most vendors don't get paid until their product sells. It was a huge hit to vendors who had to move product back onto their books, but a boon to Wal-mart.

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

So in 2001 a 20-year TIF was established (in part) to build, maintain and/or subsidize this garage. Now we're going to tear part of it down and replace it with a low-rise department store that will likely have dedicated spaces for it's shoppers, and probably other dedicated parking if Seville become...

I really like the little courtyard between the two 5-story buildings on McGee - hope the idea is to incorporate that in with the retail buildings.

Re: Liberty Memorial Musuem and Penn Valley Park

It sure was nice to have tons of people in the park last night. Seems like a permanent video display could really add something to the site. Could also be cool to get union station's 100th anniversary animation permanently installed. Since it's already animated, they'd just have to install the lamp...

I wonder what happened to the round locker room sink-turned-urinal? I swear, I do not have it.
LOL that was always a urinal - they used to have them in the elementary school I went to.

Airlines tack on fees and other taxes to the price of a ticket to help pay for airport improvements and pay down debt.

Re: We need a new airport!!!

KSHB reporting the cost of the terminal is increasing to $1.9 billion. Anyone know why? Now's the time when everyone complains about the increased cost and Edgemoor scales back the terminal to be just a big blank box with no frills. $1.9 billion is insane - it's not like we're getting new runways o...

And those 900 jobs could eventually turn into 2,000 jobs, so it is a big loss.
And those 900 jobs could turn into hundreds of new residents downtown and employees paying the earnings tax (assuming no subsidies) and supporting local businesses in the area. It is a big loss.

Wichita

Large mural being painted on a grain elevator in north Wichita - would love to see something like this on either side of the elevator on the NE corner of Rainbow and SW Blvd.

Re: Open Spaces - Kansas City Arts Experience

Went to Hye Dyve last night - the projections on the walls and audio weren't working and the older gentleman who was supervising the venue was clueless on how to get it back up. He actually thought that by letting the 10 minute loop run through several times it would correct itself :( I'd like to se...

So after spending $8.7 million on the property, what are the chances Drury holds on to it for a few years and does nothing with the current structure?

Re: Open Spaces - Kansas City Arts Experience

The shitty local newscasts all featured pieces on Janelle Monae and actually tied here performance to Open Spaces...but that was like a week or two ago rather than at the beginning of everything. Granted I'm not the most in tune with social media advertising, but other than a couple of billboards an...

Re: STL MLS proposal resurrection

Were there any discussions to repurpose the dome? Not that i'm aware of. In theory that seems logical, but unfortunately the dome would be wildly out of spec of the parameters that MLS is looking for. I would not want to attend a soccer game in a dome. That's where the repurposing comes in - remove...

Those addresses - it seems more like two in Mission and two others on Johnson Drive out west.
