Re: 1800 Walnut

I really think the term crossroads "traditionalist" is hilarious. People come up with all sorts of ways to not call themselves NIMBY.

It officially passed. Roughly 2500 yes to ~800 No for both questions.

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC

Is it really not possible to maintain some sort of left turn during off peak hours if we had a center running lane?

Re: The KCMO School District

It looks like the number listed is the total population and demographic breakdown of each sub-district. Has to be populations of school age children at around 200k. If all children and not just breakdown of those enrolled in KCMSD, I’m surprised at the 40% black population. It shows how segregated ...

Re: The KCMO School District

Redistrict new map https://twitter.com/rayweikal_kcps/status/1008494046405382144?s=21 You can see the population trends in the district. They pulled all of the crossroads out of the rest of downtown. It appears to me they did the opposite of what you said. They consolidated crossroads with downtown...

This link was posted earlier, but it best sums up the situation.

In short, we have a pretty good chance.

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?

I think the only additional thing I would like is some rail train service to TSC. Probably a pipe dream, but drunk soccer fans traveling from the stadium to hotels would be dangerous. There will be free shuttle service between downtown and TSC. I think they should add shuttle service directly to th...

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?

We will definitely have a new airport, 1000s of new downtown hotel rooms including a new convention hotel, and potentially we’ll have streetcar extended to the plaza by then connecting even more hotel rooms. If we can demonstrate how express buses with dedicated lanes/routes from both the plaza and ...

Re: OFFICIAL: Port Authority Riverfront Project

Not a fan of an entire affordable housing building next to the nice market rate building. I mean I get affordable housing can't have every Bell and whistle amenity but all affordable housing tends to turn into a mess. This is a gross overstatement KCPowercat. One-fourth of the buildings in the Rive...

Also, maybe there is another way to affect travel times aside from highway lanes? Like, gee, I dunno build light rail instead?
