Re: OFFICIAL - City Club Apartments (former Midwest Hotel)

I'm very excited for this project. Big, dense project right in an area that is an eyesore. Plus, it begins the march eastward to connect to the vibrancy in east Xroads.

Re: Regional fare payment comes to your smartphone today

I don't think so. I just checked a trip that is 4.9 miles (work to home) and it would cost $10.86 for uber, plus tips are now expected. Thats without surge pricing. The best thing this does is allow guests. Previously it was just a single ride purchased, which is expensive. Now it actually makes sen...

Re: We need a new airport!!!

Apparently one of the tax bill's floating around contains a provision that would eliminate
the funding mechanism they are planning to use for the new terminal construction.

Re: Downtown office vacancy

Those are very interesting numbers for KCMO. A tight office market with low/moderate rents. Pretty much right where we would want to be. I've got to think we will see some movement towards a new tower DT soon. Hopefully the economy doesn't collapse first.

Re: OFFICIAL - East9 (former Pickwick Plaza)

I toured this place the other day. Very nice. They said they are 85% leased (started leasing majority of units in May) and that their micro-units have a year long wait list.

Re: We need a new airport!!!

I think most people here would agree with transferring the airport. Unfortunately, it is probably a non-starter in this current political environment. I'm not sure if it would require a public vote or not, but I have very little confidence that the voters would approve it, and the current city coun...

Re: We need a new airport!!!

One of the biggest things that concerns me about Kansas City's development is KCI. While our airport is convienient and nice on the inside, it is not adequate anymore for a city of Kansas City's size. First off, it's structure makes it seem small. When people come to Kansas City, they think we are ...

Re: We need a new airport!!!

I heard there is confusion from non KCMO residents trying to vote Its almost like people have an expectation of having a say on the issues that affect them. Did they forget what country they are in? What planet they are on? Seriously though, win or lose, we need to transfer this to another entity. ...

Re: Westport

ah, ok. For some reason I thought it was discussed this week. It is interesting that Shields already introduced this ordinance. I would think they would wait until CPC has discussed and given a recommendation. It reminds me of the moratorium ordinance that moved forward without usual CPC process.

Re: Westport

Does anyone know what happened with the Westport Vacation (which appears to have turned into a sidewalk vacation) at CPC this past week? Did they recommend approval? Shields has introduced two ordinances that would vacate the sidewalks in Westport. They are on the agenda for PZE next week. http://ci...

Re: We need a new airport!!!

KCPT offers an interesting take on the KCI saga.

Almost as if it were funded by CFRG or one of their overlords. KCPT did receive a $4million anonymous donation a few years ago to create “a new service focused on news and public affairs storytelling in the digital age”

Re: Misc Crossroads News

Not to go off on too much of a tangent but when exactly is City Club apartments supposed to break ground? I thought financing was lined up and they were looking at a fall groundbreaking. I've been following the permits on KIVA for this property and everything went quiet in the middle of August. A l...
