Re: Porchfest

The PorchFest organizer is not going to put the event on this year. Doesn't want to put in the labor of love required to do it. Seems unlikely anyone will have the time to pick up the ball since it is this late in the year.

Based on the article is sounds like this place will also function as a bar with boozy ice cream and beer.

Re: Westport

I haven't seen where the boundary extends to yet, but I hope they included the Mattress Firm strip mall. It housed a Blockbuster at one point. It doesn't get more historical than that.

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

This is my take away from this thread:
The plaza is a total joke because it is losing all its high end retail-> The plaza needs a pharmacy and neighborhood amenities to get its luster back!

Re: Three Light

What I am looking forward to most from this project is the continued pedestrianization(?) of N. Truman. I never, ever could have imagined Truman becoming a pedestrian oriented street, but with the opening of two light I can already see it is inevitable (and with the capping of the loop it could be o...

Re: OFFICIAL - Loews Convention Hotel (formerly Hyatt)

Not really. Everything on schedule. Garage is pretty much done (up to floor four), currently finishing the lobby floor which has lots of details and uniqueness- so, after that they will start doing the regular floors and it will rise pretty quickly out of the ground- should be completing a floor eve...

Re: KC Star building redevelopment

The food hall (for this development) sounds more like an actual grocery store with an attached outdoor market area, plus restaurants. It sounds great to me.

Re: Historic Old Northeast

This is what the developer, Robert Andrew of M.A.C. Corp, said he is currently contemplating 1) let the property sit and “let it grow weeds” for 20 years as the parcel appreciates in value; 2) sue the City of Kansas City, Missouri for denying his client’s property rights; or 3) let his legal represe...

The redevelopment of the parcel at 2600 Independence Avenue is dead for now. PZE Committee pulls controversial Independence Ave. development off the docket http://northeastnews.net/pages/pze-committee-pulls-controversial-independence-ave-development-off-docket/ This project is bizarre. How was was ...

Re: Proposed: Hyatt House Hotel- 900 Broadway

To be clear though, these guys own a lot caddycorner from the building that they plan to build an *automated* garage on, from what I've been told. Where caddycorner? On broadway? I don't see where a garage would fit or a parcel that shows the same owner. Unfortunately I missed the meeting where the...
