They can't even afford to keep bags in the dog poop bag dispensers. How are they gonna afford a streetcar?
The Port Authority partnered with the city to form the original TDD so they have a say in how the funds the TDD generates are spent.

Re: Five Light

I'm guessing since Copaken is involved in this tower that we can assume nothing is going to happen with their project at 13th & Grand anytime soon.

We'll have quite a few cranes up if this all goes through. Convention Hotel, 3 light, 1800 Walnut, Strata, City Club (?), Hotel Bravo (?)...

Re: Regional GDP

But it does show you how about half of our region's GDP is in KS and thus dilutes the weight we can throw around in state politics. MO side counties don't even equal StL county GDP.

So, KC metro has a higher GDP than STL? Surprising.
what phuqueue said. I was just trying to give a sense of how our regions counties stack up to the larger counties in the StL area- Not try to make a comparison between StL region and Kc region.

Re: Bird Scooters Have Landed

I also wonder if they are annoyed about the council directing their fees toward "housing" instead of scooter infrastructure. Those hearings were bizarre. The Lime rep sat down and said explicitly, we are giving you these monies with the understanding that it is spent on regulating the scooters and b...

Re: Westport

The north side of Westport Rd between Holly and Wiedenmann (just north of the old Berbiglia that was torn down for the new QT) is rumored to be torn down for apartments. The owner of the salon in one of the houses said they were being forced to move, and when I asked for more details she said they ...

Re: We need a new airport!!!

They only technically need the largest 3 airlines in order to move forward with the operating agreement because those three airlines have over 66% of the passenger traffic at KCI. In business session today, Klein stated they want to get 5 airlines to sign the operating agreement before they move for...

Re: We need a new airport!!!

Also, to clarify, the airlines are fine with the airport design and cost. They are discussing how the costs for baggage handling fees will be allocated among themselves. It is a tiny, tiny portion of the project costs for the airport, but a significant amount for the two airlines. The two airlines h...

Re: We need a new airport!!!

Its possible some of those airline could pull out, I guess. All other airlines, except those two, submitted letters today in support of the airport's current cost and design estimates. (EDIT: which is why it seems like the smaller two airlines are using the larger airport project costs as a red herr...

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

Its a valid question and I don't pretend to actually have an answer, but I can see how they may just want to build new at this point in the process. In the past, they rehabbed and built houses/townhomes at lower price points. Now they are doing their high end stuff. They are starting at 45th street ...

Re: We need a new airport!!!

I'm watching the airport committee currently (still ongoing) and this most recent issue doesn't sound like it has anything to do with Edgemoor or the city and is totally an internal dispute among the airlines. It sounds like two budget airlines (Spirit & Allegiant) are trying to get themselves a bet...

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

I'm actually surprised St. Lukes is building single family houses. I would have expected that the parcels they owned would have been redeveloped as multi-family buildings. Why demolish single family houses to just build single family houses? Wouldn't it just be easier to remodel the current houses?...
