Re: Bike Lanes

Drove paseo this week and imagined how cool a bike track would be ...be like a bike superhighway to anywhere I would ever want to go on a bike. This is actually an awesome idea. At least, the kind of thinking that I'd like to see applied to the east side. Paseo is beautiful, wide enough that you co...

Re: Bike Lanes

When I drove by yesterday there was only the outline of the parking spots. They still need to add a door buffer on the curbside. As it is now, cars park all the way to the lines closest to the curbs and this makes it narrow for bikes. The buffers should help prevent that. Also, green paint and inter...

Re: Bike Lanes

Armour bike lanes are being installed starting today. If you haven't been on this stretch lately, the lane striping appears to be finished - parking 'bubbles' have been striped and bike lanes on each lane better parking and curbs. Between this and the work MAC did on the apartments, these few block...

Re: Muehlebach Hotel / KC Club Project

Here is their conclusion. The Project, as presented by the Developer and described above, appears to require public assistance to be financially feasible. The need for assistance appears to be driven by high redevelopment costs associated with the Hotel Component and the relatively low potential rev...

Re: Muehlebach Hotel / KC Club Project

I thought Epoch bought the KC Club, but on the agenda it says the applicant is MFH Properties, LLC. I believe that was the previous owners, so I guess the sale didn't go through? Also, the garage and office are to be in the same structure at the NE corner of 13th and Wyandotte. More info here: http...

I think the Honduran spot at 13th and Central either used to or still does have a location on Independence Ave. I really like that spot.

Re: favorite under-the-radar mexican places in the kansas city area?

Anyone enjoying Mission Taco downtown? We liked the stl locations and enjoyed our first visit to the KC location. I went once and thats probably the only time I'll go. I was fairly unimpressed with the Brah'rito I ordered and my wife did not finish the portabello taco she is ordered. Marg's and ser...

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC

Something that is interesting in reviewing those documents. Westport (which is the small, heart of westport-not the broader westport) takes in 500,000 in annual revenue from a 1/2 sales tax. While the city was discussing adding another CID to PnL, they said that a 1 cent sales tax can pull approx. $...

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC

There are two Westport CIDs. One is a property assessment and one is a 1/2 cent sales tax. On the topic of changing the design of Three Light... ... It will be Cordish's 6th high-rise residential/hotel project, so as a company, we are learning by leaps and bounds over here. Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC

This shit is ridiculous. These people don’t even live in the city and they’re trying to block improved transit for the urban core because they don’t want to pay some extra taxes. What a load of shit. Its irony to the extreme. They formed a CID that levies a 1% sales tax without a public vote. Now t...
