Re: Status and future of the River Market area??

Glad you asked. This is what they are trying to emulate: ... ... Thanks for the response. It is interesting to me to hear people who seem to know what they are talking about when it comes to architecture or art- it always makes me see things I didn't see before and appreciate architecture, artworks...

Re: Amazon searching for second HQ

We need regional mass transit if we are serious about attracting a major employer or growing our employment base in anything but a ho-hum manner.

Re: Status and future of the River Market area??

I'm not a huge fan of the faux historical roofline, but whatever. Give it 20 years, and people will think it's actually historical, like the BOA building in Westport. As I don't know much about the topic- what makes this a faux historical roof line? What is an example of a true historical roof line...

Re: Bike Lanes

From what I can tell, most of the times things get backed up is when a delivery truck or car decides they are just going to stop wherever they damn well please so they can run into a building quickly or pick someone/something up. This, however is a problem on nearly every DT street right now. Headin...

Re: Bike Lanes

Driving grand yesterday was great. Traffic moved at a reasonable and safe speed, but was still just as efficient as before. As soon as I got to the end of the painted bike lanes on grand I found myself naturally gunning back to 40 and racing to the next stop light. You'd think crown center would wan...

Two light tower crane is coming down today according to their twitter account. Does this mean three light ground breaking is coming?

Re: Westport

Apparently the street vacation wasn’t part of the Westport Building Ban. It’s going back to CPC on 11/7. There’s some kind of quid pro quo where WRBL will support HKC/Vicki Noteis/Lisa Briscoe’s efforts to amend the PMAP and extend the Plaza height restrictions into Westport, in exchange for the st...

Re: Two Light - 14th & Grand

Yeah, I'm interested to see what the parking garage screening looks like as well. I also am looking forward to walking along Truman Rd to see how that pedestrian experience feels. This (plus 3 and 4 light) is THE key connector to the crossroads. Looks good so far.

Re: OFFICIAL - 46 Penn Centre

Wow. Denver is in a different class than KC with proposals like that. Impressive. As everyone has already stated, Block is out of his mind over the top delusional thinking that building will be anything close to iconic in KC. That said, I am glad this building is getting developed. It still irks me ...

Re: Kansas City Music

Nice article on the current state of the KC music scene asks the question: Does KC have to many venues? Some interesting tidbits “The customers and fans will let us know,” he said. “It’s a lot for a market this size. We already have more venues than Minneapolis and St. Louis. I think if anything, it...

Re: OFFICIAL - Loews Convention Hotel (formerly Hyatt)

Today, St. Louis gained a Loews Hotel. It will be a Live! one. I n regards to this one in Kansas City, this won't be a Live! By Loews but rather a simple "Loews" brand. http://www.buildingstlnews.com/the-blog/loews-is-first-tenant-to-be-officially-announced Do we know this to be true? Cor...

Re: Westport

http://www.kansascity.com/news/politics-government/article177102471.html they passed it out to full council. taylor was the lone dissenter. Should we write the council to ask them to reject this measure? I disagree with this "moratorium" but it only applies for 6 months so is it even wort...
