Re: Westside happenings

That is the right approach. Build the density of townhouses, but separate SFHs with no association fees. That is where the market would be to push townhouses in KC. No problems with banks and the 50 percent pre-sale condo situation. This is exactly what is going on in the West Plaza neighborhood, s...

Re: Streetcar to the riverfront

2) Is every screetcar going to go down to the riverfront once this extension opens? If so, why the need for the turn from Grand to third still diagrammed? If not, would the NE corner of the River Market essentially not be served as trains bypass the relocated station? My understanding is you'd want...

It means they're looking for things to do since they have nothing to talk about yet because the government has been shut down for a month.

Re: Liberty Memorial Musuem and Penn Valley Park

Agreed. The connectivity issue between North/South side of the memorial is part of it to. The overall lack of connectivity within the whole park is just silly. Its like it is not meant to be used as a park, but only as a backdrop to a post card.

Re: Liberty Memorial Musuem and Penn Valley Park

In other words, its not the boxy design of the memorial that makes no one go there, its the terrible design of the roads and surrounding land use.

Re: Liberty Memorial Musuem and Penn Valley Park

The problem with the park is you have to drive to locations located within the park and the park is surrounded by and cut in half by highway type roads. This means you see zero pedestrian activity or park usage on the perimeter of the park. While I agree that there are some pockets of the park that ...

Re: North Plaza Hotel- 46th and Broadway

I don't think there were any renderings presented. Based on what the condo owners said, it sounds like that initial plan has been scrapped- which is why they want a new approval for the new buildings. The new owners of course think they "substantially comply" with the terms of the previously approve...

Re: North Plaza Hotel- 46th and Broadway

Yeah I noticed this turn of events as well. It sounds like the project is intending to become 100% hotel instead of having a portion of residential. The nearby condo building showed up to the PZE to oppose the change in plan scope, noting that the entire original project design had changed (a large ...

I'm not sure why people think Edgemoor has anything to do with whats going on right now. The issue/hold-up is the airlines.

What is the point of that post on the Pitch website? What is it evening communicating? Its so short and lazy that its mind boggling he has the login credentials to even post it. If he wants to whine about something why not just tweet that? All it does is take credibility from him and his publication.

Re: Status and future of the River Market area??

The parking requirements are in the way of the master plan I assume since the rowhouses have their own parking. Did we not get rid of parking minimums in RM? Any help the public can bring (calls, emails, etc) to whomever....let us know. Kudos and very apprecriated. Oddly it is not the public nor ci...

Hey I get noticed on certain posts...happy to answer questions. We pulled the townhomes sign (ugly) b/c of lingering uncertainty with the master plan. 50/50 says it might be back. Certainly have demand. the corner lot sign was Chris Sally - office bldg - and too small of parcel really for that. Unc...

Re: Misc Crossroads News

Has anyone been to the pop-up Christmas bar above Rockhill Grill? A co-worker begged me to check it out with her yesterday, so we showed up ten minutes after it opened (4pm) and there were already around 20 people in line - people who didn't make it in before the space reached capacity. At 5:00 the...
