Re: One North Development
Update, 3/16/19. I saw in the North Kansas City newsletter some additional information. "Aloft and Element Hotels These dual-branded, Aloft and Element, hotels are part of the boutique line of Marriott. The hotels will host 200 rooms - 100 rooms for Aloft and 100 rooms for Element, and be ancho...

Re: One North Development
I'm answering this myself, I just saw some updates on the city council page. Posted 2/8/19 "In the past two weeks, the bonds for both the Aloft and Element hotels and The Backyard apartments in the One North Redevelopment have closed. The hotel’s construction permits have been issued and the pl...

Re: Studio Restaurant and Bar - new place on Mcgee downtown
I've been up there. It is pretty gutted. It certainly doesn't still look like a domicile. I didn't think so. Thanks for the information. That is kind of sad really. I mean I can't expect it to be exactly the same, but at least the structure of the room, ect would be nice to still see. I at least ho...

I went by a few weeks ago and it is still there luckily. I think I did see someone (homeless?) outside of it, in the back. Any other news?

Re: Studio Restaurant and Bar - new place on Mcgee downtown
Any new information about this site?
Also, has anyone gone to the third floor? Has it been kept even remotely original up there? I wonder how much of Louis Curtiss's old apartment is still there. I assume none..

Re: OFFICIAL: The Legends at Village West
Name a stadium that is surrounded by village west type development. Arizona Cardinals, University of Phoenix Stadium. It is 100% like Village west, with the Stadium RIGHT next to it. http://www.universityofphoenixstadium.com/ Here is a view of the stadium and the shopping area to the North. People ...

Re: Architects: Louis Curtiss Buildings
Those photos from the Corrigan home are nice, but the home looks a LOT different now. Where it is all white around the windows, it is now black and more natural tones. It is one of the most amazing homes I have ever been inside. It is said that Curtiss himself hand painted the numbers on that large ...

Re: Beutner Residence - Demolition of Louis Curtiss House @ 1311 MANHEIM RD
The last time I took those photos (already referenced on here) the place actually looked like someone had been working on it. It was in better shape outside than it has been in the past. I hope it doesn't get torn down and someone will save it. I look about once a week to see if it is for sale, noth...

Re: Architects: Louis Curtiss Buildings
I think that I found another Louis Curtis house here in Topeka. This house is the rectory of the St Josephs Catolic Church. I took some pictures of it tonight to get some verification. Unlike the Chubb house this has no supports under the eaves. There are the same supports under the window sill tho...

Re: Architects: Louis Curtiss Buildings
Are there any other structures in Topeka hat you think were designed by Louis Curtiss? . This is what I found regarding Topeka, KS. Most, if not all, appear to be gone, or they were just a remodel. So I don't know if they are still around or not. David Mulvane residence, 1035 Van Buren, Topeka, Kan...

Wow Moderne, I would have loved to bought that home! Speaking of.. I went on the tour today and it was great. The two Curtiss homes were amazing. I took some photos that I will be putting on my Flickr site tonight. But I am posting this because I just found out the mother of all Curtiss homes will b...

Re: Architects: Louis Curtiss Buildings
Hi, I recently got a notice of this tread through my Google News updates about Louis Curtiss. What a great site listing works by Louis Curtiss! I have personally taken photos of his work around KC. I have them posted here. http://www.flickr.com/photos/hypnoraygun/collections/72157600215620071/ I als...
