Re: Westport

People tend to think of midwesterners as being a fairly friendly bunch, right? Little do they know, however, that we've only been channeling our hatered into these online forums all this time!

Liberalism is a mental disorder.
Or maybe reality is actually too complicated to be made sense of without some nuance, and can lead people to a number of different conclusions based on incomplete perspectives?

No? The left is a diseased hivemind? Ok.

Yes, last I heard there will be a large illuminated "church of scientology" on the roof. I think it will face both north and south.

A....unique addition to the skyline

The following is on the agenda for the TIF Commission's meeting tomorrow. I don't see any indication of the what the project might be, but I am guessing it is the Hotel Bravo. Or, is there another project in the works in the Performing Arts District TIF area?
Anything new with this?

Forum is slow/unresponsive

The last few days, I've been having trouble accessing the site. Sometimes it takes forever to go page to page or is just completely unresponsive. Occasionally it works perfectly fine, but then goes back to having problems. I've had these same issues on several devices and networks, so it's got to be...

1983 proposal for Petticoat lane. This view looks East, with the Harzfeld's Building on the right. Note that it would've at least preserved the Waldheim Building, seen on the left, which was demolished for 1 Petticoat Lane. https://i.imgur.com/nFHe4ma.jpg http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-IRcTnjpQK4Q/T-pwC5...

There are so many blah buildings that could replace besides a nice historic church. Disappointing

Re: KCTV5 tower.

I'm usually not a big utility tower fan, but the fact that the tower has been around since the 50s, is a self supported structure, and is bright red make it somehow more interesting to me. If they can pull off this project, it has the potential of creating a pretty major landmark

The exact same shot today. Note that the houses in the bottom right are still there, as well as the red church at the bottom near the middle

But the west wall isn't retained is it? Isn't it tear down and build back? I think you're correct. On the drawings, it notes where the old building ends and the new begins. I'd always assumed it was just referring to the parts behind the wall, but it appears to include the wall as well. https://i.i...
