The south elevation actually looks pretty good as far as faux historical buildings go

Re: Great Architecture from Around the World

This sort of architecture just isn't appealing to me. A lot of excess expenditure that does little to make the building more beautiful and arguably makes it worse, just for the sake of grabbing attention.

Re: Should Jackson Co. relocate the Correctional Facility?

The existing downtown jail — the site of ongoing dysfunction, violence and scandal — would eventually be torn down
We should keep it. Not for any sort of significance, but because we could fill it with all the junk clogging up the bryant building and oak tower. It'd be perfect, probably.

Re: OFFICIAL - Hampton Inn (16th & Main)

I know it’s not going to be that color, but I wish Kansas City had some more colorful buildings. I think it breaks up the monotony of cities well That's actually something I've always appreciated about the glass towers downtown. They all have unique color schemes. H&R is green, Town Pavilion is tea...

I’ve reached the point in my adulthood where even the names of historic buildings annoy me. Pythias Building? Trump cannot usher in the horrifying and chaotic collapse of this society soon enough for me.

Is it possible the details were taken off to be restored? When the boley building got restored I think they ended up removing almost the entire facade before cleaning reattaching it

This looks cool, but what exactly is futuristic about it? Luxury projects like this have been built all over the world for years.
Remember, the drury inn by city hall is being described as fitting into kansas city's architecture. They'll say anything.

Re: Hotel Bravo- 17th and Wyandotte

The colored renderings look like absolute trash.(like Dreary In). However, the white renderings on the architects website actually look really nice. The hotel looks like the convention hotel from the east, the Center from the south, and somethinf complete unique from the west. The architect's drawi...

Re: The Junction Before and After, North Loop Removal

Also, remember that new land created by the loop removal would be essentially an extension of the already active river market. It would improve that area's appeal, removing its greatest physical constraints and letting it expand south. Hopefully by the time that happens the north loop landbankers wi...
