Re: Why is the Crossroads an “Arts” District?

The Loews hotel is at the same latitude as the printing plant site. Is the Loews hotel part of the crossroads arts district?

KC finally discovering the joy of a nice walk! I’m proud of the Current for not caving to parking demands and actually making people just figure it out. There’s a lesson to be learned here

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Living downtown while the big 12 has been going on, I’ve obvserved that there’s basically no traffic change outside of like, Main through the P&L district. I frankly agree with Grid on this point, I have zero idea why anyone on this board is concerned with the traffic engineering of closed stree...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

How much art is actually occuring in east crossroads? I feel like it’s more of a bar and restaurant district than much of a gallery district tbh. Which is fine, but then they shouldn’t be acting like the ballpark is going to nuke a bunch of galleries when it’s a mile away

Lol go find the spaceship. You missed the early years. That's where we are now Someone must have the original rendering of Sprint center? I'm avoiding saying who we went against to not draw this off. https://ca.movies.yahoo.com/no-shortage-sports-venue-ideas-123000840.html?guccounter=1&guce_ref...

Re: Fantasy Retrofits: Barney Allis Plaza

I wish BAP could be more closely integrated with the rest of the convention center. Moscone Center in SF revolves around the lovely Yerba Buena Gardens, which are built over the great underground exhibition hall. It's all a very elegant urban convention center, compared to the horrific landscrapers ...

Re: Would You Recommend KC?

Something that has stuck in my mind of the last few years is the story of the new terminal at MCI. The amount of anti-new terminal media was frankly overwhelming, to the point that a lot of people here were concerned the final vote could be pretty close. KC has a history of sentimentality to the abs...

Half the historic stuff in river market was destroyed for parking, so I think any notion that we should be respecting surface parking in this district is patently absurd and disrespects the enormous architectural and historical damage inflicted on it by cars. As for height, I don’t think it really d...
