IDK how old these are, but didn't see them posted here. Still looks better than arterra. The rendering is also less deceptive, so I think what we're seeing is what we're getting

Re: OFFICIAL - 909 Walnut

new owners apparently think they can get rents up 18% on average over the next 3 years and are looking to extract money out of the ground level by adding a bar that's open to the public. I really like the idea of opening some of the building up to the public. Wish the P&L building would do the some...

Re: OFFICIAL - Loews Convention Hotel (formerly Hyatt)

And the city would definitely do something substantial with the surface lot. I'm almost 100% certain they would do nothing with it. Remember, there are still surface lots right downhill from the current building with no plans in sight. And the views from upper balconies looking out toward downtown ...

Re: OFFICIAL - Loews Convention Hotel (formerly Hyatt)

https://i.imgur.com/gvFFofS.jpg I really don't like it. First of all, it's a building that's designed to face south. The architecture came after the site, as is true with most buildings. If the building was designed to face north, it would've looked seriously different. Second, the view north of th...

I was surprised they are planning to update the building, and not convert it to residential.
City center is a big building. Not sure if there would be enough demand to make it work right now honestly. Probably more demand for office space

My girlfriend ruined the fountain symbol for me by complaining that it just looks like a big flaccid penis. :(
I don't think it's close enough or obvious enough to matter. The ends are too sharp and the arcs don't quite form the....you know.

I'm sorry, but your girlfriend just has a dirty mind.

Re: Status and future of the River Market area??

As great as the P&L district is for downtown, I wish they had integrated the existing buildings a bit better. Would've injected some prebuilt character into the development. I understand tearing down some of the smaller stuff, but there was no reason the TWA building, for instance, had to be torn do...

Re: We need a new airport!!!

There shouldn't even be questions about the developers at this point. Seems like the city is trying to make this as needlessly difficult and complicated a process as possible. Doing junk like this isn't going to convince any party to work harder, it's just going to make everyone panic.

The government is the largest employer in KC, so I guess much of the city is essentially jobless right now. Any ideas what impact this is having on the local economy?

Project Price is now over $800million. Opportunity zones are being looked at due to potential financial bonuses. The East Loop and West Bottoms areas are both opportunity zones. West Bottoms sounds like the better option to me. Opinions?
