Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar

I've had a two block head start from nineteenth and had to literally sprint to make it in time for the Kauffman
Stop. It's not that fast but it also isn't slow

Re: Brookside

I don't really want any more starbucks in the city, KC has actually gained a lot of cred in the coffee world for how many local shops we have and the quality of them

Re: Amazon searching for second HQ

NOOOOO!!!! I get us trying to play off the cute midwestern thing but this just seems dumb and juvenile. Kansas City has so much to offer, and I get they are saying that through the product reviews but nobody from amazon is actually going to take the time to read all that except a low level employee.

Re: KC to STL Hyperloop

It's impossible till it isn't, I'm sure when people first heard of trains and the amount of infrastructure that was necessary they probably also believed that even if it was possible it would only be for the rich. No one knows the future, but if the past is any sign we have definitely not reached ou...

Re: KC to STL Hyperloop

It's a powerful force like the highways, there will most certainly be negatives but it would do far more damage to our city long term if we didn't connect at all

Re: KC to STL Hyperloop

My guess is that there won't ever be rural stops if this does end up happening, rural communities are dying all around the developed world. Now that food production is mostly concentrated with a few companies a ton of rural communities doesn't really make economic sense anymore. That is why we are s...

Re: We need a new airport!!!

Unless they realize they have no shot, but want to make it seem like they do so that the airport will pass. It will be beneficial to the entire region after all. That would require Kansas doing something for the public good.......okay nevermind

Re: We need a new airport!!!

 I'm getting really tired of people complaining About walking. The moving walkway seems expensive and unnecessary I remember when I worked at a gym and people would literally drive around a parking lot for fifteen minutes to try to find the closest space. On one hand I get it build for your cu...

It looks 1984 esque to me. I feel like context is really important for buildings it's a big reason why I don't like skyscrapers in Europe outside of Frankfurt and London

Re: Status and future of the River Market area??

I can see that, if he ends up with a wrapped garage, Ill be incredibly happy. However if there is a surface lot for the townhouse parking, idk it just seems lazy and dumb. I'll still be happy to have a smaller parking lot, just seems like a wasted opportunity. If the townhouses are flushed to the ex...
