Lot next to KC care health center

[glow][/glow] I always dreamed about seeing a high rise here when I lived in KC and use to go to Monarch all the time. Does anyone know who owns it or if there are any plans for it?

Re: 1532 Grand

Looks awesome, I’ve always thought about how awesome it would look to have a tall building built on their parking lot flush with that building and the one next to it

Re: Four Light

A W or similar hotel would be nice. Does 35 floors include garage? It may also end up being a “Live by Lowe’s” hotel which is a newer partnership with Cordish and Lowes. I’m not sure the convention center hotel is a conflict since they’re very different concepts and customers. Check out the one in ...

Re: Troost developments

That’s such a cool idea. I’ve read an article or stat before where I believe it said it is actually cheaper to house homeless people and help get them on their feet, vs not doing it. I’m not sure of the validity of that though

Re: Misc Crossroads News

Or just make the trucks go to the east crossroads if they really don’t want them near the galleries

Re: Misc Crossroads News

Aren’t there way fewer galleries in the crossroads now. Aren’t they also a lot more spread out than before. I agree it should be more focused on art, but it kind of feels like you’ll just have to start a new one for that possibly not in the crossroads. Are people really willing to give up a unique u...

I feel like if we could get enough employers to start choosing downtown again, it would encourage other employers to move evenetually leading to a chain reaction

Re: OFFICIAL: Power & Light District

Poor design from the beginning, but not everyone was on the same page with the total footprint of H&R which is where the sidewalk gets pinched down. Why not remove the curbs that limit the sidewalk space and install steel tree well covers like the block to the north? That stretch is such an embarra...

There are linked basements in Delaware in the river market. Always thought one of those would be great for a speakeasy

Re: Liberty Memorial Musuem and Penn Valley Park

I’m not really an architectural person, the point was to make something unique and provide a view that would generate more revenue for the museum. Definitely not a serious suggestion

What if they built an underground addition to the current museum and added a giant window in to look out over the skyline. Might get them some more visitors too

Re: Streetcar to the riverfront

If the streetcar was built to the isle of capri, would it be possible to build massive park and ride garages, and maybe save a space nearby for another one. That way it could keep more parking out of downtown, and give visitors a definitive place to park in order to use the streetcar.
