I hope local media picks up on the fact that, rather than work on a compromise, city council just voted to change The Paseo against the wishes of 85%+ of KCMO voters. I want to know why anyone who voted for this would seek election in April or ever again?

Interestingly, M.A.C. Corporation showed up with 119 "letters in support" though in all of the months of discussions and meeting, I have only heard or seen two people express support for the development, and they're both employees of the Northeast Chamber of Commerce and Independence Avenu...

This is absolutely not suburban. My spouse and I are Scarritt Renaissance residents. We agree with all of your points, FangKC, and would just add that the transformation of IA from Paseo to the new Pendleton ArtsBlock speaks to a growing wave of investment moving west to east on Independence Avenue....

It appears that KCU will probably have to go through Landmarks to demolish the Colonial Courts no matter the outcome of the MPD plan.
