Re: Kauffman Stadium naming rights deal off for now

That would definitely be a sad day for KC if it becomes US Bank Field at Kauffman Stadium or whatever crap name they'd come up with. I can somewhat understand changing Arrowhead, but to unceremoniously pull Mr. K's name off the stadium to make a little cash when the team's value has already tripled ...

Here's a better version of the logo... plus it now adorns the entire front of the Royals Hall of Fame in left field - looks awesome!

Re: 2012 MLB All-Star Game at The K

Hey, I think that looks pretty good!  I love that they incorporated the crown and had the points of it be stars for the All-Stars, cool touch.  Awesome that it is in the scoreboard shape too - a very definite Royals feel to it. Does anybody know if Metro Sports is showing the announcement this after...

Re: 2012 MLB All-Star Game at The K

Here's a good video today of all the bigwigs kicking off the countdown.  Man, it sure is nice to hear THIS speech come from the mayor of KC... not the one we would have gotten last year...

2012 MLB All-Star Game at The K

Watching all of this coverage of the Home Run Derby and tomorrow's All Star Game, am I the only one who is ALREADY fired up for next year's ASG at Kauffman?  I'm picturing Berman calling homers into the fountains in right, aerial shots of Kauffman/Arrowhead at night, the parade of all-stars through ...

Re: P&L Building

I think this, or even just being lit well in white lights would be awesome.  Sadly it has been so dark for years.  One of the best outcomes if it becomes the hotel is that it can become a beacon/landmark in the night skyline again!

Re: TSC Renovations

Went to the Royals game last night and Arrowhead is looking pretty good!  All of the construction fencing is down, most of the plantings are in, signage is up on the outside and around stadium, jumbo video screens installed above the entrances, the old concrete circular ramps are wrapped in red chie...

Re: Convention hotel proposal for P&L building (and surrounding block)

sounds good that a recommendation was made.  i just wonder how quickly they'll move on this. It sounds like once it is actually approved, they could break ground in about 3 months so not too bad.  Interesting comment in this NBC story about possibly bidding on the 2012 Republican National Conventio...

Re: TSC Renovations

Nice!!  It looks like they are adding some sort of backing to the crown as well. I wonder if there will be any more minor changes this off-season?  Hopefully something with that ugly metal centerfield wall below the scoreboard!  At least put in some shrubs or something  :-k Here are a few more pics ...

Re: Kansas City to get 2012 MLB All-Star Game

Another big part of the All Star weekend that was introduced maybe 5-6 years ago is the Red Carpet parade.  All the players ride in the back of Chevy pickups (assuming Chevy is around in 2012) for a parade like a mile up to the stadium.  They televise it on TV and do interviews with the players simi...

Re: Blogs about KC visits

Here's a blog entry about The K from a couple guys who are visiting all 30 major league baseball stadiums this summer.  They are pretty complimentary! Well, starting in 2009, because of brilliant off-season renovations, Kauffman Stadium is one of the best and most fan friendly stadiums in baseball (...

Re: OFFICIAL: Power & Light District

Cordish can only program/plan so many events.  The ROI isn't there to book events every day.  I would say 180 events with 30+ larger concerts and many more partner/charity events is more than most any developer in the country does.  That being said, there is always room to try and add more.  I do b...
