Re: OFFICIAL - The Gallerie (27th & Gillham)

I want like 100 more of those built but I can't get myself to buy those. Feels too disconnected One can only hope we see more of this housing type in KC. Urban STL has a pretty solid stock of historic rowhomes, similar to some east coast cities. Did the development of rowhomes/townhomes never take ...

Looks like tenants have started moving into the first phase of this development. Wonder how the sale of the townhomes is going?

Re: Hawthorne Plaza

The Exact Partners website has the Monarch building as a planned hotel as opposed to the originally reported condos, so I'm guessing the plans after the Netherland are still pretty fluid. They list the apartments at the Netherland as having "hotel-like amenities" so seems to be the plan right now. I...

Has this project been started yet? If not, any ideas on when? Seems like a critical project for the Midtown area.
Just from my observation on a recent trip to CVS, this project seems well underway. Also, the lot to the north of this property has construction fencing up.

Yes, ground floor residential! I always think back to the linked article and the conversation about having retail streets and good residential streets (conversation with pics near the bottom of the article). Makes a lot of sense if done right. I especially like the terrace idea. https://www.vox.com/...

Re: Westport

I remember seeing the news report on the "Westport Triangle" recently. I'm interested to see the design recommendations considering I commute through this intersection every day. There is mention of eliminating a portion of 43rd St, which I would assume is that small awkward strip in front of the fl...

Re: UMKC Conservatory of Music considers move to downtown

Kevin Collison was on KCUR: Up to Date this past Monday discussing ongoing downtown developments and mentioned discussions for the conservatory may point to a location on the UMKC campus instead of downtown. This is the last topic of discussion on the audio for reference. http://kcur.org/post/seg-1-...

Re: Renovations of apartment buildings along Armour Blvd.

Drove by the BP gas station at Armour and Troost on NYE. Looked like it has gone dark and pumps removed. The businesses on the northeast corner were dark as well but could've been related to the holiday.

Any info on the condemnation process and if we are getting closer to development?

Re: Misc Crossroads News

This is the same company that objected to losing their sight lines when the hotel was constructed, yes? Pardon me if I don't believe they have any incentive to develop the surface lot anytime soon. They've had this lot for years now and they haven't even bothered to pave and stripe it until now when...

Re: Kansas, Missouri battle over companies

MO side of KC region has been dominating job growth the past year or two. From September 2015 to September 2017, 78 percent of the metro’s employment growth was in Missouri. (This data is not seasonally adjusted so we need to use consistent months when calculating change to remove seasonal factors)...

A few things: 1. The developers of the 39th West apartments are having a meeting with the Valentine Neighborhood Association to present their revised plans. The meeting is on Oct. 30th at 7pm at the Writer's Place. The notice I saw did not say it was open to everyone but it was shared with surround...

Re: Amazon searching for second HQ

Kerr is just pimping his site. He touts the access to the population center of KC, Lees Summit, JoCo and the Lees Summit and JoCo airports. He also said his site is already assembled and under control which would make it likely construction could start in 2019, which is in line with Amazon's timelin...

Teresa Loar concerned that the last gate is 50% further than the current configuration, but SOM says that distance will be made shorter with a 600-foot moving walkway.

Re: We need a new airport!!!

My biggest concern with all of this is that it looks like their concourses are very narrow, lack enough room for seating, and while they appear to be pleasant in overall look/feel, the size seems off. Check out the drawing with "Gate 5" it looks like it is just stuck next to a restaurant, with no e...

http://www.kansascity.com/news/politics-government/article177058541.html Site one and two both are horrible. Why would either of those spots work?
