Re: Three Light

I like this building in Minneapolis.
Completed in 2014, the 36-story LMP Apartments is in the center/right.
Unique shape, unique materials and unique design.
It would really mix things up between Two and Three Light.

Re: Three Light

No I just think it's funny that everyone on the message board has been clamoring for more density, more density and yet, when that density begins to change the skyline from one vantage point of Liberty Memorial, everybody freaks out. Go take your "money" shot now and put it away, then you...

Re: Three Light

And what smaller buildings will these towers block that anyone wants to see? Did the community complain when town pavilion was being built that it would block the southern view of other buildings? The President Hotel, One Light, H&R Bloch, Federal Reserve Bank are a few that come to mind. The b...

Re: Three Light

There is no doubt that the new buildings along Truman Road will hide most of the smaller, thinner buildings behind them, diminishing the tiered and diverse density and impact that gives the KC skyline it's beauty and uniqueness Hopefully there will be some nice new mid-rise construction that fronts ...

Re: Three Light

Comparing stone look-alike houses lining a residential street in a streetcar suburb is not the same thing as a monotonous line of identical 24 storey towers that just happen to have become the front wall of the most popular skyline angle. I would like to see a different glass color used, like very l...

And/or they realize they built in the middle of a wasteland and that their employees hate it.

Re: Bannister Mall/Cerner

KC won't get what it lost and we wouldn't want to. KC was a manufacturing center. Remember that the crossroads was mostly industrial. I was referring to lost buildings and people using them in the north loop. What is now the north loop was never a "manufacturing center." If the interstate...

Re: Bannister Mall/Cerner

My hope is that Cerner comes to their senses and halts further construction here for awhile. Then comes up with a better plan and build a substantial tower downtown. In the small chance they build downtown they're not going to build three 50 story towers at the same time so the transit argument is p...

Re: OFFICIAL - 531 Grand

^ I really like this project. I wish all of the River Market construction was on the south side like this one. Unlike all of the unseen projects on the north nearer to the water, this tries to "re-attach" the RM to the loop. I hope there are a dozen more projects just like this one. Perhap...

Re: What is this crane for?

Just found out it's already been mentioned in the Hospital Hill thread. http://maps.kcmo.org/kcgis/rest/services/external/DataLayers/FeatureServer/35/44604/attachments/7371 It's for the parking garage in Phase 7. Phase 7 will be the added office building on top of this garage. http://img.photobucket...

Re: Gun Violence in KCMO

Well, when you put my post in quotes and repeatedly say "you", the logical conclusion is that it was directed at me. But OK - I get it now. No I didn't quote you. I quoted the news article. I thought I was being clear that the media and politicians are getting it wrong because they don't ...

Re: Gun Violence in KCMO

But how do you solve the issue? As I see it the issue is parents and how they raise their kids. Unless we start loosening how serious we take our Constitutional rights how do you force a parent to actually parent their child? My post is toward the press and media's misinformation by calling it &quo...

Re: Gun Violence in KCMO

Whoa dude. I have absolutely no idea what point you are trying to make. Exactly, so why the long-winded retort at me? My entire post has nothing to do with you and is aimed at the Newspaper article. Until the press gets a clue and tells the truth, this issue will never go away. There's no such thin...

Re: Gun Violence in KCMO

"Gun violence?" Since when did guns have the ability to walk around shooting at people? "But the violence is particularly concentrated in certain neighborhoods. A central swath from Independence Avenue south to about Longview Road and between Troost Avenue on the west and Topping Aven...
