Re: Liberty Triangle

Completely forgot about Conrads. My wife says the Reuben sandwich is great and they have some sort of golf practice range in the back for hourly rental. Haven't been there yet myself.

Re: Liberty Triangle

Hy Vee plans a gas station on 291 Hwy near their entrance and a Capital Federal Savings is going in next to Starbucks. In the Crossroads shopping center El Cerro Grande has closed and will become The Hacienda. Near Downtown Liberty the Mill Street Deli (which was awful, in my opinion) is now going t...

Re: KC Commuter Rail

I don't know what you're talking about. I think that was Dave. I give up. You're correct. It is a fantasy with absolutely no historical basis that despite occasional fluctuations, the long term trend is for the price of gasoline to increase. Reduced supplies coupled with increased demand from India...

Re: Missouri Amtrak Service

I heard that water was over Missouri highway 224 near Wellington. This closes the Union Pacific River Subdivision and puts all KC-St Louis rail traffic on the Sedalia Subdivision, which will probably affect Amtrak River Runner schedules adversely.

I heard the former owners of the Chinese joint hadn't paid rent for a year and stole all the equipment when they moved out. Even took the sinks and toilets, left only bare walls.

Some are steam-powered and some are diesel. Any of them are a fun diversion.

Re: Liberty Triangle

The bowling alley is good for burgers, but it'd be nice to have a decent drive through burger joint.  I wouldn't call Hunan cheap, although they're not expensive.  They're good for what they are (sit down resturant, carry out, delivery), but not quite drive through cheap.  Ming dragon let's you car...

Completely agree.. Sonic. Taco Bell. Mc Donalds ...Blah. They're all the same after awhile.  Jimmy Johns will be a nice addition, but what we need is a good fast food burger place (With a smidget of quality) I'm not a big fan of Five Guys, & their always too packed to be "fast food"))...

Re: Parkville Commercial Underground

There are several underground facilities like this in the KC area. It does seem a little creepy to drive into one but once you're in the offices and warehouses inside, you don't notice it so much. Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun are undercut by one of the largest in the area.

Re: General Amtrak Discussion

I just finished My Antonia by Willa Cather and she talks about the express train that used to run from Omaha to Kansas City. It apparently ran several times a day in addition to a regular whistle stop route. What an awesome and romantic time to live. I rode those Kansas City to Omaha trains a hundr...

I went to a city forum one night to ask about this problem and  I could tell from the answers that they were embarrassed and pretty much clueless about how to maintain uniformity on the whole system. Get this - each intersection has a target board (they are the little diamond-shaped things on the po...
