Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

Seems to me they're shedding quality but old-line stores that played well to my generation (boomers) and are replacing them with, well, fresher options that speak to a younger demographic. I mean, Eddie Bauer was old news even to me. Haven't set foot in one of their stores in years. For example, th...

I wish them luck... Their nearby retail map is so outdated that Kmart is still listed, and it has been gone for years now.

I think he's referring to the fact that you're asking for more parking lots, but the only way parking lots can be added is if we destroy existing buildings.

Re: Schlitterbahn Waterpark and Resort

The Co-Owner has been arrested in connection to the Verruckt death. I think there is a decent chance Schlitterbahn just pulls out of Kansas in the next couple years. They probably got a bunch of money to build the thing, why even bother with operating in another state when all your other locations ...

Funny thing is. People are still completely clueless. Projects like Bluehawk in Overland Park are still getting massive subsidies today to build brand new retail that is totally not needed. It’s not unique, but there’s a series of projects that look really bad in OP Downtown OP retail came first Th...

Isn't some of the areas in the SW part of the state seeing growth among the Hispanic Communities. Like Garden City/Dodge City area. Dodge City has reported population gain. Liberal has lost some minor employers in recent years, so we will see. The census admitted that they missed up in Garden City/...

Re: Kansas, Missouri battle over companies

Johnson County is one of the only areas of growth for the state of KS. The state will do anything to keep JoCo growing. At this point its practically the only. Lawrence and Manhattan have posted pretty nasty job loses since last fall, and everything Lawrence tries to subsidize either closes or neve...
