Re: Cold Storage Lofts

Columbus Park residents have heal several meetings with folks from the EPA and the Starch company to try and work on something to abate the smell. The last meeting - I think - was back in Feb. Might be worth checking with some of the residents there to see what they already have in the works. Unrela...

I got a few of the event and the 21-gun salute. Not the Helicopter, though.

Re: What was that??

Judging by the time you posted yesterday I am assuming you heard the 21-gun salute during the police memorial service.

They also had the police helicopter fly over after the national anthem.

Re: Kansas City Mounties

I've seen them around the River Market a lot recently. They have been training - or at least getting ready for the summer - up in Northeast around Concourse Park. Stopped to talk to one of them (the officer riding the horse) and they said they were looking for a place near the Market to house the ho...

Re: Angel's Rock Bar

I think I could go for bottle /case service - esp if it came with my own personal bottle opening person (those twist off caps can be a pain for those of us with weak upper body strength). it definitely "flies" at Blonde, Seven, NV, and probably some other places.  i don't really see why it...

Re: Angel's Rock Bar

Maybe I have spent far too many nights at dive bars across this city, but will bottle service really fly in KC? I have heard of other bars in the Power and Light district offering it too, but it is really that successful as a promotion item - or even needed?

Knight's BBQ

The Northeast News is saying that Knight's BBQ on Indep. Ave. is closing next Tuesday. Jerry Knight, who has run the place since 1985, said he was ready to retire.

Better get your fill!

Re: Raglan Road

I thought the the place was pretty well done. Their whiskey selection was decent, and their Guinness was poured perfectly (took a little little longer). I'm really looking forward to the whole bar being opened up. The main room was gorgeous and I can imgaine that place swinging pretty well with thei...

Re: Cold Storage Lofts

Hummm, Those euro washers are not the greatest things in the world I'll admit.  however I asked them to bring me one from another unit.  that shouldn't be your fault.  they can act quicker I think. I think they have there service contract with Service One delt with now. You should be able to get a ...

Re: The Rise of the Child-Man - How single men are regressing in the 21st cent.

Where is the data to back this up? Just because Judd Apatow, Adam Sandler and Steve Vaughn have made movies glorifying this "man-child" what makes her think these guys have not been around forever? Didn't we all have that one uncle who stayed single and had a new girlfriend at Christmas ea...

Re: OFFICIAL: The Falls (Bass Pro development)

Don't mean to cut anyone off, but I thought I could offer something since I grew up right in that area. Field? Forest? eh, little of column A, little of column B. The area that the Bass Pro physically is in used to be  an old soy bean field - special habitat? Not at all - unless turkeys and squirrel...

I have not seen anything official - thought someone here might know - but I heard that the bank was going in with a combination of homes too. Anything to this?

Re: Streetscape Plan Unfolding

It looks like there is a foot-wide gap between the curb and the sidewalk...what is the plan for that? To narrow for landscaping it seems.

Re: Warehouse to Come down

The fences have gone up and it looks like some work has started.

There are also guys tearing down the brick, garage-like(?) building to the south of the lofts there. Any idea if that might become something? Are the two tear downs related?

Re: Cold Storage Lofts

I know rumors can get twisted and distored, but I am curious how something like three deaths could even get started.

I sure haven't seen the meat wagon hanging out around my building.

Also, we signed a one year lease so if they are riasing rent it won't be until Spring 2008.

Re: Grand Boulevard of the Americas

I rarely do this but here goes. This is the first post that I have to argue with myself online. Judging from what I saw first hand of the banners on Grand Blvd of the Americas I think that these look so cheep that it would take a small windstorm to take them down. I did not think that looking at th...
