Re: Restoring Residential Density

We also have to change how we view parking as an unalloyed good. We have to stop viewing the street in front of single family homes as an extension of their property. We have to abolish parking minimums. We have to stop being terrified of buildings that we can’t see over. We have to stop treating r...

Yeah 2123 Madison is a miss. Really really unattractive.
I agree, but would love to see the inside. I'm guessing the interior was the first thought.

Re: Westport

Actually, the entire stretch of 39th from Broadway all the way to Warwick is pretty shitty. Regarding the Westport portion, with 39th on the north and Broadway on the west, when is redevelopment going to hit that SE corner of the intersection? That raggedy strip of shops and 'spa' needs to go. I sa...

I like this project. I don't get the anti-gentrification attitude that so many people have. Areas like that have been neglected for decades and then when they finally start seeing economic activity, people start complaining about gentrification. It's silly, especially in a city like KCMO which has ...

Re: Status and future of the River Market area??

Re Walnut Street through the City Market: the plan as I understand it is to reopen Walnut weekdays and keep the "market square" closed to cars weekends, as it is now. I don't see a problem as long as it's still an open market on the weekends. Plus there is already practically a foot print for the r...

IMO Save the church and turn it into a multi use building. Build the new structure on another empty lot. I'm always for any development we can get, but this seems unnecessary. If we didn't have a ton of empty lots then this would be a completely different conversation.
