Re: Downtown Tanners closing?
The reason I heard (and I trust my source) that Tanners shut the doors, was because they were being less than truthful about their sales. Is/was their rent based on a percentage of sales? Can anyone verify that?

Re: Lenexa CityCenter
I doubt there will be a grocery store anytime soon. I beleive it was mentioned, but, I think it would be a small one, maybe like the Hen House in the Village. If one is put in I think they were talking about it going in the North Village area and not the East Village.

Mixed use, office space, parking garage (2 levels), condos (3 or 4 levels), Paddy O'Quiggleys, Java Stop and Quiznos. Not sure what else is going in.

Re: Power & Light District Dress Code
I don't get why everyone has problem with dress codes? The idea of these bars/resturants is to make money. Blonde on the Plaza takes it to a new level and I have no problem with their policies. They do what they think is best for their business. I have a friend who owns a bar/resturant; he had t...

Re: Lenexa CityCenter
I had always heard that the City of Lenexa was going to put city hall in the Lenexa City Center development. I do know that the city of Lenexa has been very strict with this project. They want this development to look and feel a certain way. A lot of plans have been redesigned.

Re: Lenexa CityCenter
honestly, i wouldnt mind seeing that "grassy open space" instead as accessible park space: an amenity. it seems to be on the right track, i would hope to see the plans evolve. Are you referring to the circular grassy area on the East Village plans? If so I think the size of that area is ...

Re: Lenexa CityCenter
All I'm saying is the plans I have seen for it are pretty lame, just as most of the "new urbanism" plans that area suburbs are proposing. I don't want to beat a dead horse, but, what plans are you refering to? I have sat down with some of the developers, I went to the presentation they ...

Re: Lenexa CityCenter
Well, that's what's getting build. The actual City Center is still an idea more than anything. What are you talking about? Have you not driven by what they are doing out there? There are roads, utlities, etc already in place in the East Village. The North Village will have roads and utlities wi...

Re: Lenexa CityCenter
I have seen detailed plans of this project. The portions that will be built in the next five years will impress very few on this forum. It's not even close to Zona Rosa now, let alone after their expansion. Same with the project in Leawood. That project makes the Lenexa project look silly. Thi...

Re: Lenexa CityCenter
When I mention the Plaza like feel it in regard to the way the parking is set up. There will be very little surface parking in the east village. Although I think Zona Rosa is a nice area, the LCC will be totally different. Alot more office space, apt, townhomes, lofts. http://www.lenexacitycente...

Re: Lenexa CityCenter
pardon my ignorance, but does this project have any relation to the actual downtown area of Lenexa? or are they just building a new, fake downtown to have better proximity to the highways that killed the original downtown? No relation to the present downtown. The project will house City Hall, not...

Re: Lenexa CityCenter
Various people on this tread had a few negative things to say. Maybe it was too early in the project, maybe they were mis-informed. The entire project has too many great things going for it. The golf course, location, the Plaza like feel, hotels, mix of free standing homes, townhomes, lofts, apar...

Re: Lenexa CityCenter
Here is the City Centers web-site promoting the project. http://www.citycenterlenexa.com/ No matter what negative things are said about the City Center, this project will be a sucess. The location of the City Center is as good as it gets in JoCo. 435 is < 1/4 mile, I-35 < 2 miles, I-70 appx 6 mile...

Re: greasy suburban KC dives from an earlier era - that are still in operation?
I live fairly close to the Taco Via at 95th and Antioch and it hasn't changed in the 10 years I have been going there. And, from what I hear (friends) it's never changed. I have friends that will drive 20 minutes out of their way to goto that specific Taco Via. And, if you are going to Taco Via, ...

How about a CocoBongo at the P&L. I think everyone that has ever been would agree it would be awesome.
