Re: beer.

Stockyards is fantastic, love what they did with the old Golden Ox space. Glad you enjoyed it. Check out Crane Brewing Co (raytown) on your next trip - a little off the beaten path but they're making my favorite beers out of KC at the moment. Though you have to come liking sours! I was leaning towa...

Re: beer.

Went to Stockyards Brewing on Sunday. Really cool place and the beers were good too. I liked how they kept it almost original from the old steakhouse. So far I have been to 4 KC Breweries in the past few years on my visits to KC. Cinder Block, Big Rip, Boulevard, and now Stockyards. Haven't had a ba...

Re: Kauffman Stadium Pano

Wow... I see one photo can spark a whole Urban V Suburban fight in Kansas City just like it does in Omaha.

Well from someone that goes to a KC Royals or KC Chiefs game once every year or so, you do have a great complex down there.  As far as the PnL, I will let you know next week!

Re: Storm damaged Qwest Center, Omaha

Looked like a fantastic event. I was curious about how the timing of it worked. It was just an hour each night, but I'm assuming there was a bunch of tape-delay stuff, etc. Regardless, it seemed like NBC and Omaha both did a good job. What was the attendance? Looked pretty crowded on TV. There was ...

Re: Storm damaged Qwest Center, Omaha

Its actually sitting on the arena floor where the Hockey rink/baskatball court goes.  The walls are aluminum pannels connected together.  They took out the first 9 rows of seats and built a deck from the edge of the pool over to where row 9 would be.  There are actually steps from the...

Re: Storm damaged Qwest Center, Omaha

1.  That first Photo is not the Qwest Cetner. 2.  I would like to see a lot of buildings stand up to 100+ MPH straight line winds. 3.  I would not start flapping your gums too fast... Just wait until you GLASS arena meets a nice midwestern hail storm. 4.  DTO, quit wasting your t...

Re: Omaha: Considering building a new DT ballpark

God knows the Royals organization isn't opposed to being located in an oasis surrounded by miles of suburban wasteland.  Do the Omaha suburbs have any areas that could accomodate a few thousand acres of surface parking and a Denny's? Yes, but Omaha can't support a Denny's, it would be an Ihop....

Re: Omaha: Considering building a new DT ballpark

Heh... I could care less about Rosenblatt... it's even worse for minor league baseball, old and huge (well, by minor league standards anyway). I'm just afraid that one of our 'Overland Parks' (which are starting to realize they have some buying power in the past few years)... might step forward and...
