Re: Troost developments

South Park Mall, a Simon Mall in Charlotte, is home to Louis, Burberry, Neiman, Nordstrom, Tiffany, Hermes, La Coste, Kate Spade and ... Old Navy.

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

I could see our youth killing the jewelry/diamond industry because its a horrible monopoly controlled by a few families with horrible working conditions and the fact that a diamond is not really rare at all. Interesting aside: brown diamonds have historically been considered industrial grade. The i...

Love trains. Love jazz. I agree with you in your wishes that Cordish had chosen one of those instead of Country.

Wyatt Earp, Bat Masterson, The James Gang, Doc Holliday, Pony Express, wagon trains. Maybe none of those are strictly cowboy culture, but they all sure say "Old West". People don't go to P&L for a history lesson, they go for fun, right?

Does anyone have any idea of where The Defenders got its name? Very strange. Kind of comic book stuff.

I don't doubt the upscale direction. I imagine Nordstrom's had to be convinced of that fact before signing. I just think luxury shopping and luxury goods might look different to a millenial than to someone my age. I mean, Burberry and Williams-Sonoma leaving seems like a step backward to me, but may...

Seems to me they're shedding quality but old-line stores that played well to my generation (boomers) and are replacing them with, well, fresher options that speak to a younger demographic. I mean, Eddie Bauer was old news even to me. Haven't set foot in one of their stores in years. For example, the...

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC

Route redundancy is abundant in old KC. Coming south from downtown on Main and can't turn left into Hyde Park? You'll learn to take Gillham. Coming north from the Plaza on Main and can't turn left into Old Hyde Park? You'll learn to take Broadway. Not a big deal.

Rename Berkley Park to MLK Park. MLK did just as much or more for KC as Berkley did.
