Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

The neighbors' arguments are weak, but this site deserves better. Not a good fit for the neighborhood. The city should veto this project.

Re: Keystone Innovation District

This is being described as a new thing for KC, but it seems to me that what he's proposing is what the Crossroads already is. Sitting on the edge of the Crossroads as described, it's not going to function as a stand-alone effort. It could certainly bring some added energy and maybe beef up some piec...

Re: Keystone Innovation District

I'm surprised this initiative isn't generating more discussion here. Maybe it's because it's currently conceptual and not bricks and mortar.

Re: Keystone Innovation District

I read the article. From the description, I don't see anything being proposed that is new and different. Seems like it's all being done by a number of other players in KC. Am I wrong? I guess the concept includes a campus with some ancillary functions like a little retail, but the Crossroads already...

Can they build on their half of the alley? Are there no setbacks in KC?

Re: 1800 Walnut

Love the waves. Probably will by done by KC's own Zahner. Question to those lamenting the street experience: in your opinion, what differences would have made the building excellent? "More street level retail" alone isn't an answer as that would have reduced ground level parking. How would you add g...

Atticus23: Dumb question: Will this effect TheGYMKC in the back of the building? The middle of the weight room is an open atrium that goes the height of the current building. On the back side of the building down a hill from the street level is a gym. Developers plan to bring the gym up the hill and...

Holiday Inn KC Plaza (don't laugh till you've checked it out)

Holidayinnkcplaza's account on instagram has some really fine photos of kc that don't get tagged with the usual kc tags like #igkansascity or #kansascity. I've never seen them before. Not just of the Plaza but of all the core. By the way, wish there were a #kansascitynoweddingsnoengagednosportsevent...

Re: Affordable Housing

Anyone else remember back in the 70s when owners of large houses in neighborhoods such as Hyde Park were required to reduce the number of units? My personal knowledge is of a home on Janssen Place that was required to tear out two kitchens to reduce the number of rentable units from 5 to 3. Now, I'm...

Well, as long as we're going to keep the Missouri a big ditch, I would like to see as much economic benefit come from it as possible.

So, how does that compare to the first season? (I realize that I could probably look back and find this out for myself, but I'm old and have been drinking. Please humor me.)
