Re: Kc skyscraper drought about to max depression era droughttt.

Given the turn this thread has taken, this article fits. It's a comparison of the economies of the 100 largest U.S. cities. And it has maps. :D According to this, some of KC's neighbors aren't doing as well as I thought: Minneapolis, Omaha, OKC. Make sure to download and take a look at the dashboard...

Re: Hospital Hill activity

As Ronald McDonald House operates on either side of those lots as well as across the street, and since Ronald McDonald Charities owns the lots, seems pretty certain that whatever use is to replace the houses, it will be related to RM Charities. Maybe Powell is just providing planning and operating e...

It doesn't necessarily have to be all or nothing for the tennis courts. There are 14. Removal of just the 4 on 47th st would open a fair amount of land for redevelopment.

Re: We need a new airport!!!

Since MO is at present right-to-work, is it even legal to require only union workers?

Re: We need a new airport!!!

Omaha's strategy seems good to me. Sounds very much like Charlotte's approach which has resulted in an eco-devo powerhouse for the region. KC could learn. More or less on the subject, I think Van Loh is a hero. I know many thought he was an arrogant, heavy-handed ass (or something like that) but wou...

Actually, I've wondered if FlyingEmbers isn't KCDev 10 (or so) years later. Absolutely no offense intended FE. You just sometimes exhibit the same fervor as KCDev. Not a bad thing.

Re: Three Light

After watching and waiting on downtown KC development since 1982, I can't believe people are fussing and fretting over a font on the sign on a high-rise residential building.

Re: Misc Crossroads News

Those blocks are across 20th street north of the huge parking lot being vacated by Childrens' Mercy, right? Hopefully, it will be snatched up quickly. And with the development of these two blocks, the block-sized parking lot northeast of 20th and Grand will be in-the-middle-of-it instead of on-the-e...

Re: Amazon searching for second HQ

Tower, I'm tempted to feel the same way about rapid transit. I can see that an excellent system coupled with a prime location with reference to it, could reduce the need for parking space. But I wonder if part of the purpose in including it was just culture posturing.
