Whoa, eclair!? Welcome back.

Thanks! I check in now and again ;-)

Any updates on the Woodside expansion? I heard around the neighborhood that they are having trouble getting financing to move forward. That would be a shame.

Re: Retail Strip on NE corner of Westport Rd and State Line

I have been wondering the same thing. Construction has been going on there for a couple of months now and I haven't heard any word about what is going on there. Anyone know?

Re: Best "urban" option in KS?

I love my neighborhood. It is called Spring Valley and it is south of 43rd, north of 47th and then west of Stateline but east of Rainbow. It is a little pocket of about 300 houses. Crime is low and walkability is high. The best part is that you can pay out of district (it is in WyCo) to attend SM sc...

Re: Woodside Health Expansion in Westwood

As someone who lives two blocks north of this development, I could not be more thrilled. This part of Rainbow needs development and the location is ideal, being just west of the plaza and south of 39th street. There are already lots of Woodside members that come to this part of the city from all ove...

Re: KC in TV and Movies

I think they are destined for big stuff.  They are on tour with Travis in Europe right now...a great fit for their style and another band I like.  I am really excited for the KC music scene!

Re: Top Five Cities You Want to Visit

I have heard it is just a really cool college town with an edgier side.  The obvious appeal of all of the great-outdoors options close-by also makes it really appealing.  I have never been anywhere in Montana and it just has this mystique about it that makes me want to know more - the whole big sky ...

Songbird Cafe

I have been really wanting to check this place out.  It is a small cafe in the Fairfax District of KCK.  Has anyone been there yet?  I met the owner when she worked at the Paper Source on the plaza and she is a lovely person.  I hope to check it out soon. http://songbirdcafe.blogspot.com/2008/07/upc...

Re: KC in TV and Movies

I was flipping through channels and stopped on "Grey's Anatomy" for  a second just as a "Republic Tigers" song was playing ("Buildings and Mountains" -- great song!).  This is the best band to come out of KC in a long time in my opinion.

Re: san francisco advice.

Pier 39 ... not. I love the farmers market the Ferry Building.  Great food, people watching, etc. Last time I was in San Fran, I ate brunch at Rose's Cafe -- delicious.  It's at the corner of Union and Steiner. They have inside and outside seating (with heat lamps).  They do not take reservations on...

Re: The state of Texas : Mexico can have it back

I have spent some time in Austin and loved it.  I went to some great Bars -- nightlife was excellent with tons of live music.  I ate some incredible food, especially Mexican, but also one of the best Italian meals I have ever had.  I like Lake Austin as well.  UT Austin is a fantastic school.  I wou...

Help with Kansas City Daycares

I am just starting to research daycares in the area and am already feeling overwhelmed!  I am wondering if any of you have daycares that you are happy with and whether you would share their location, price, requirements, waiting list periods, etc.  Ideally, I can find something in the midtown, downt...

Re: Habitat Leaving the Crossroads

I am so disappointed about this move.  I have purchased 3 pairs of shoes there, some jeans, and a sweater, my husband has a pair of shoes.  We loved being able to walk there from the Stuart Hall Lofts, when we were living there.  Yeah, it was expensive, but you could  find great sales if you were wi...

RIP Melbee's

Just read in the Pitch that Melbee's is closing.  I am bummed out.  Great concept, bad location.  I hope the owner will try another restaurant somewhere else because I thought the food was mighty good.

Has anyone tried Tom Fooleries for brunch?  I have seen it advertised, but never been to it.  I think it is an all-you-can-eat deal.  I have been wanting to check it out sometime.

I love this place as well.  Don't know if anyone mentioned the milkshakes already, but they are amazing.  Foos custard and Shatto milk -- what could be better?  I have been there three times now and had great experiences everytime.  The only thing I haven't liked was their calamari - very think and ...

There are a bunch of threads on here with ideas for wedding rehearsal dinners and weddings.  Search under those and you will get a bunch of resources.
