Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I don't think parking will be a problem but it will be interesting to see where a majority will decide to park. Will a lot of people use the existing t mobile center garages since they are familiar with them? That's only a .5 mile walk. Will a majority just go to random $10 lots between Oak and 71 h...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I wonder if the plan is a week before vote the Chiefs release their plans and the marketing campaign makes the vote all about the Chiefs and keeping them in Jackson County. I feel like that would sway more people than the Royals stadium.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Random question, what was there before the glass KC Star building? Was it just an empty lot?

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I don't really know a lot about this area but I wonder what's the longest stadium lease you could get a team to commit to. It would be great if we could do a 50 year lease with a scheduled $400 million renovation at the 25 year mark. That way we don't run into a situation like the Atlanta Braves whe...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
When we talk about East Village, isn't that close to a few shelters and resources for the homeless? Would that pose any issue for trying to develop anything eastward? Obviously you don't want to screw over the homeless so I wonder how they would work around that.

MAC getting more properties on Troost. Getting rid or cleaning up the gas station sounds like it will be huge improvement. "A plan to rehabilitate all four corners of Armour Boulevard and Troost Avenue — and help improve livability of nearby neighborhoods — earned early endorsement Thursday fro...

Owner of Green Duck Lounge on Prospect was killed
I wonder if the Green Duck Lounge will stay open? Always wanted to have a beer at that place but never got around to doing it. Lot of history at that spot too. Leon Jordan, the old KC civil rights leader originally ran the place. Unfortunately he was shot down too. http://www.kansascity.com/news/loc...

Re: Church of the Resurrection Downtown Campus
I attend rez downtown. I do kind of wish they would've kept using their first building (the Grand Avenue Temple on 9th and Grand), but since they didn't control the building, I think they were having issues with modernizing it(I don't know the full story on that so i could be wrong). Obviously I am ...

Re: Westport's fate post-P&L
More info on the throwback bar going into Westport. http://www.kansascity.com/news/business ... 94002.html I wonder if it will have the same success as Updown in the Crossroads.
